Alex was frustrated, to say the least. He was sitting in the back of the tour bus, waiting for a thought to come to mind. He had to figure out something that he could do for his and Jack’s one year anniversary, and he had no idea what to do because of the tour. Hell, they could always go out partying or something like that, but Alex wanted to do something special, and he had no idea what to do.

The door opened to the room and Alex ignored it as he closed his eyes, letting out a small puff of air. “What’s wrong Lex?” Alex opened his eyes to find his boyfriend standing in front of him with a frown on his face.

“Nothing,” Alex said as he shrugged, running a hand through his hair. Jack sat down next to him and pulled Alex into his arms, kissing his cheek lightly, but it only frustrated Alex a bit more. He pulled away from Jack, earning a frown from the man. Jack stood up and disappeared from the room. Alex frowned, wondering what he had done to make Jack leave.

Closing his eyes, Alex leaned back on the couch again, sighing quietly. This was just another thing for him to worry about as he tried to plan the perfect anniversary for Jack. He sighed loudly as he got lost in his thoughts, not hearing Jack return until the man cleared his throat.

Alex opened his eyes and watched as Jack quietly held up a shiny copper penny. “Penny for your thoughts?” he asked softly as he set the coin down onto the coffee table. Alex looked at him quietly for a second before he stood up and pressed himself up against Jack.

“Stop being so damn adorable when people aren’t around,” Alex said before pressing a kiss to his boyfriend’s lips. Jack took the opportunity to pull Alex into his arms, squeezing him tightly around the waist as he kissed him back just as gently. “You really have the wrong persona in front of the cameras.”

“Well I am generally an asshole,” Jack said with a cocky grin. “Just not when it comes to you. You’re my reason to be who I am when I want to be that person.” Alex smiled lightly as he rested his head on Jack’s shoulder, just breathing in his scent and remembering all of the calm, beautiful moments they’ve shared so far. “So,” Jack said softly as he led Alex back over to the couch. “You going to tell me what’s wrong or are you going to make me guess?”

Alex opened his mouth to answer, but Jack pulled him back onto the couch, and the two of them went falling down, Alex landing on top of Jack perfectly, as if it were planned that way. “Nope,” Alex whispered with a smile as he pressed a kiss to Jack’s nose. Jack rolled his eyes.

“Fine then. Just so you know, tomorrow, don’t wear one of your terrorist scarves.” Alex looked at Jack who had closed his eyes after he said that, holding Alex tightly to his chest. “It’s a surprise.”

“What kind of surprise?” Alex asked as Jack’s arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

“The surprising kind,” Jack replied with a smile as he let out a quiet yawn. “Now I’m tired. Let me sleep!” Alex laughed quietly as he reached over to the coffee table and grabbed the penny, placing it on the tip of Jack’s nose. “What are you doing?” Jack asked without opening his eyes.

“Being adorable and giving you a penny for your thoughts,” Alex replied with a smile. “What’s on your mind baby?”

“You,” Jack replied as he opened his eyes to look at Alex. “You’re the only thing that’s always on my mind.” Alex flushed lightly and he pressed a gentle kiss to Jack’s lips. “I love you Lexxi,” he whispered as Alex pulled away.

“I love you too,” Alex replied with a gentle smile as he looked at Jack, letting his previous planning ideas fly away as he only focused on his lover.

“Good, now will you get this penny off my nose?”

“Nope.”

“Please?”

“No.”

From outside of the back lounge, Zack and Rian’s conversation was interrupted by a loud crash and some mildly screaming swears. They shared a chuckle as Jack swore on a damn penny that he’d make Alex pay for knocking him off of the couch.

Oh, the days on tour were very interesting….

Especially when pennies were involved.
