William went back to his old room in the mental hospital, and as per usual, he spent every day sitting in the corner with his head pressed to his chest and his knees drawn up to meet them. James continued about his daily activities, making sure to take care of the patients that were moved under his charge. He left William alone like he had asked, yet every day he would stop in front of his room and stare inside for a good half hour or so, waiting for some kind of movement that would tell him that William was still alive and breathing. The only way he knew that the black haired man was still alive was by the half eaten food trays that were brought back during the course of the day.

James was truly worried now, and William was refusing to talk to anyone so he needed to find a way to get William to understand that he needed to talk about this. “Hey Stacey, who’s William’s emergency contact?” Stacey, his intern, went to the file cabinet and pulled out is file.

“Well there’s two listed here,” she replied with a small frown. “One for Adam T. Siska and one for Michael Guy Chizzlet.” James looked at her.

“Which one’s listed first?” he asked, curious as to which band member William picked to be his most trusted contact.

Stacey checked the file again. “Mr. Chizzlet,” she replied. “Should I get you a copy of the contact information for him?”

“Yes,” James replied with a small sigh. “I need to pay him a visit.” Stacey nodded and disappeared with the sheet to make him a copy, leaving James with an empty desk and a full mind. This was going to be an interesting day.

A knock on his door pulled Chizzy out of his mindless strumming, so he set his guitar down and walked over to his door before opening it. Standing on his porch was a young man, not a day over thirty with shimmering blond hair and piercing green eyes. “Can I help you?” Chizzy asked softly.

“Are you Michael Guy Chizzlet?” the man asked as he looked at the Michael with curiousity clearly stated on his face.

Chizzy nodded slowly. “That would be me. Who are you and how did you get this address? It’s private. Please tell me you’re not a crazed stalker because I really don’t want to have to call my security.” The man shook his head hurriedly.

“I’m not a stalker I swear,” the man replied. “My name is Doctor James Marx and i-“

“So you’re a Marxist?” Chizz asked with a small frown. “I don’t like Marxists.”

The man shook his head again rapidly. “I’m not a Marxist,” he said with a small frown. “Now will you please listen to what I have to say?” Chizzy shut his mouth and leaned against the doorframe. “My name is Doctor James Marx and I work at Pster’s Institution.” Chizzy’s ears perked up at this and he stared at James intensely. “William Beckett is one of my patients and you were listed as his emergency contact.”

“What’s wrong?” Chizz asked, instantly worried about his friend. “Did something happen to him?” James quickly shook his head. “Then why are you here?”

“I need your help with something,” James replied softly. “William is being stubborn and he refuses to let us help him, so I need your help to get him to listen to me no matter what.” Chizzy nodded. “Thank you,” James replied with a small sigh. “May I come in?”

Chizzy pushed the door open and stepped aside so that James could enter. “Thank you for contacting me,” he said in a murmur. “And you can call me Chizzy.”

James nodded. “Okay Mr. Chiz…Chizzy. We need a plan.”

James stood in front of William’s room two days later, staring through the window like always. Today was the day he was going to put his plan into action. James let out a soft sigh before pushing the door open. “William,” he said softly.

“I said I don’t want to talk,” William replied with a soft mumble. He didn’t look up from his curled up position on the ground. “Please leave me alone.”

James bit his lip. “There’s someone here to see you,” he said in a soft voice. For the first time since he was returned to his room, William looked up, causing James to be able to see the broken look on the man’s face.

“I told you I don’t want to see anyone, no matter what,” William said softly before pressing his hands to his face and rubbing his eyes with the heels of his hands. “Tell them to go away.”

James sighed softly. “William, he’s been waiting for an hour and a half to see you. He says it’s important.” William shook his head, making James worry. If he refused, then the plan he put into action would fail. “Please,” he asked softly. “Please see your visitor. You need some contact with the outside world.”

“Isn’t that why I have annoying doctors like you?” William asked before running a hand through his hair. “Fine,” he mumbled. “Send him in.” James nodded happily and he disappeared to get the man, leaving William to a few more moments of silence.

William let out a small puff of air before resting his head back against the wall. Whoever his guest was, he hoped he was prepared. William was a mess.
