Dinner is served!

I am feeling spectacularly cuddly at the moment. Snuggling up to Rose on the sofa is the best way to spend time.

Firstly, Rose and I should be good to go tomorrow with starting our work on the new place. Wall-E has got rid of the various uninvited guests, Fluffy has done most of the painting (although we'll probably need to keep the windows open tomorrow to not end up high on the fumes) and a couple of others who Rose has yet to name have reinforced all the floor boards and stairs so they're safe. There's more work to be done, but it's definitely safe to start the big project of making stuff bigger on the inside!

I think we also need to start thinking about advertising for clients and that sort of thing. Do any of you lot out there have any weird problems you want dealing with? And pass our names on to friends!

Anyway, from late morning onwards I've been cooking (and shopping for ingredients)! The kitchen is in a bit of a state right now and I'm fairly sure there's a significant amount of flour in my hair, because Rose keeps petting it and smiling (amused smiling, not I-like-your-hair smiling).

It was a bit of a challenge, really. I ended up using quorn instead of any sort of meat, with a kind of sauce that was amazingly simple to make on Gallifrey (as basic as bolognese is here) but needed about fifty different ingredients including half a can of cherryade! I got quite close to the taste, though.

Along side that we had a sort of... seaweed pizza thing (if I could type the names out using an English keyboard, I would, but I can't), except it wasn't Earth seaweed. That's what it was on Gallifrey, but the taste and texture are completely different to Earth seaweed, so I ended up using a bunch of different things including tomatoes and celery. (No cheese though - Time Lords weren't big on dairy products.)

Dessert was a large selection of cakes and pastries with some combinations of fruits and fruit flavoured jellies and some of the spices I picked up as well.

And for breakfast tomorrow, assuming we're actually hungry by then, I've bought some couscous and cherries (and bananas, because they're feeling left out) to make what I suppose was the Time Lord equivalent of porridge.

Susan, if you're longing for a taste of any of this stuff, let me know. It's not quite right, but it's pretty close in some cases, and a far cry from the food machine we used to have in the TARDIS. (The problem with nicking an old TARDIS, as brilliant as she is, is that when I first had her she had this rather ridiculous food machine which completely and utterly failed to produce anything worth eating. Not her fault, of course - that food machine would probably have been state of the art when the type forties were in use.)

So now I am too full to move. Which is good, because I've nicely positioned myself so that I'm hugging Rose, and it looks like I'll just have to stay that way for a while! :D

cooking adventures, i am a genius, fun adventures in normal people stuff, rose and i should hug more, being married to rose makes me happy, i am god of the kitchen, susan is alive!, my projects are amazing, tyler^2 detective agency, gallifrey, bananas are the best fruit, culinary adventures, areas of the house are uninhabitable, rose is brilliant, human-like adventures, bigger on the inside!, it was only a minor fire
