[A ACTION, COMIC BOOKS STORE]

[In the middle of the store, there's a rather big man surrounded by the Superman comics. He seems to be reading them all. Don't worry though, workers- he'll certainly pay for it! He was raised right and he certainly knows this is not a library. And yes Kents, daddy is spending a lot of his hard-earned money on this.

But ( Read more... )

[Guess who else is moping and reading comics.

Because they have more pictures than words sometimes.

And of course suppowered grown-up men can pout, The Captain is. Why are all other super heroes so much cooler?

Also reading Superman comics.

Then he hears the guy nearby, complaining as well.]

Because Superman cheats.

Look, he doesn't even flinch when shot.

Does he have a dead sense of touch or something?

[He looks up at him]

Uh- well, he's practically invulnerable when under a yellow sun. So the bullets don't... really hurt him at all.

Yeah, but it's not a ☠☠☠☠ forcefield.

I mean, it still stings like a ☠☠☠☠ when I get shot but maybe that's because I am not a magic alien.

He's actually not magic, magic things can actually hurt him and-

[Clark. Stop.

Just stop.]

Uh. I mean. Yeah, I suppose it's not really a realistic thing, huh?

Really? Magic can hurt him?

[Wait, that seems to actually cheer up The Captain.]

Maybe I could take this loser then.

Thanks man.

Or so I've heard. I... I don't think calling him a loser is fair though, he does all he can to help.

Well, now I'm not so annoyed with him. I like the idea of breaking his jaw.

Yeah, sure he does. He's not realistic though.

[He reaches to cover his jaw with his hand unconsciously]

Well, he is just a journalist on his spare-time. What's more realistic than that?

Well, for one, most heroes don't have time for real jobs.

Also, no one notices he doesn't get paper cuts? He doesn't kick the copier a little too hard once? Come on.

And all those powers. He breathes ice and shoots heat lasers.

Does he also ☠☠☠☠ candy for the children, while he's at it?

He seems to manage alright. He has superspeed, so the time isn't really a problem.

And either way, having those powers is hardly his fault, is it?

No, you're right, it's the idiot who created him.

I still think he's a stupid hero.

Alright then. What can you do? What makes you have the right to call m-him stupid when you don't even know him?

heartstar_blues October 15 2011, 14:14:35 UTC
Because I'm a super hero. I can fly, hit things hard and take a beating too, so that makes sense.

But then Superman get's a dozen other powers that don't have anything to do with anything. I'm sure his ☠☠☠☠ opens up like a swiss army knife too.

You make it sound like everything's so easy to him. He takes a beating too, he suffers. He's been killed plenty of times.

That's not the point.

[Wait, there was a point to this? Beyond just jealous whining?]

The point is he is too good to be realistic. Also, he's got so many powers, I don't know why they even bother. I wouldn't be surprised if he pees a cure for cancer.

alienfromkansas October 15 2011, 15:50:31 UTC
...Why would he pe-

[Better not dwell on that, Clark.]

What would you do if you ever met him then? Start a fight?
