Saw my psychiatrist yesterday, who says I no longer need to take Zyprexa. Woo!!! After three months of aslowing metabolism, 18 extra pounds, and endless food cravings, I am freed from that monster. But, I'm still eating more than necessary... poo. In a couple of days it should be all out of my system. I don't knwo what it is, but I always feel like it was just yesterday that I was in Dr. Myers' office, even though a full month passes between sessions. I had that feeling again. He's a little creepy looking at first glance but I've come to love him, since he has taken a genuine interest in my progress. It's been about 3 years. Most notable about his office is a stone with a relief of a spiral shell, snowflake obsidian-like texture.

So today was low key. Had a coaching with Elisabeth Wright on Mary Robinson's Bach Cantata 170. Intonation was a bugger, working on the middle F# minor aria with violins and viola in unison, bassetien (w/out cello). High E# and A#, low G#, F#, and D#. Yeah, it's chromatic.

Then, gym. I took a book with me, Robert Heinlein's "Podkayne of Mars." I confess. I'm a sci-fi nut. I miss the sci-fi of the RPGs I used to play. Heinlein's a major sci-fi author, having written "Starship Troopers" and other books that have sparked sociological debate, so I don't guilty reading this book. Anyway, I read some while running, it made the time go faster and I didn't mind the higher resistance so I burned 362 calories instead of the usual 300. I took the book in the sauna with me, which melted the binding a bit. Oops. Some interesting ideas: Life on Mars: When couples are wed, they are encouraged to have the number of children they want in quick succession, and then the babies are frozen until the parents are ready to raise them. Also, you get to choose your gender, one of 3, at puberty. Whatever this mysterious 3rd gender is, I have yet to find out.

After reading in the gym I went to Kroger and spent $102 on groceries. unngh. I just couldn't resist $1.78 triscuits (2), dollar power bars, half off organic burritos. Really I was replacing a totally empty fridge. Like usual, carried it from Kroger, transferred buses home.

I'm supposed to sing in Paul's masterclass at 6 PM tonight. It's going to be interesting. Paul is very interesting, kind of reminds me of a fat Lee Evans, only more disgusting and not funny at all. He never shuts up, which is great if you have no idea what the hell your doing and you just want to eat up time, he does that really well.
