This is my first post in more than a month. I've been busy since december and that's why I haven't really had time to post. The time I have is actively invested in my sleep time. Everybody who knows about the shit that's gone down in and outside of school knows that it doesn't belong in a livejournal. So anything concerning our IB life and the like will remain unsaid out of decency and prudence: two virtues that some seem to lack.
On a light topic, I read somewhere of somebody saying they had an ecclectic collection of music, and broad, and varied. Reading/hearing that reminded me of this one time when I was filling out an application for some college that asked something about music and my tastes. I ended up answering that I considered myself to be very open-minded about music and had a collection that varied from tango, to jazz, to rock, to classical, to afro, etc. etc.. My brother read it, because he sat in front of the idle computer, and looked at me and just laughed and said that I have no idea what it is to truly be open-minded about music. I guess from his point-of-view, my tastes are limited, since he listens to amazing music, and has incredible amounts of music. So even after 45 GB of music, I still can't really say that I have an open-mind about music. It's relative: If I compare myself to a radio-listener that listens to mainstream, well, yes, I could say that compared to him I'm open-minded. But can a person with a collection smaller than 500 CDs really contend that? That makes me wonder, what about the rest of the people who think are so open-minded? Do they also have more music than their iPod can take and are convinced that it's incredibly varied?
To top it off, I don't consider Rap to be music, and I don't consider Techno musically advanced. As for Country music, it's not very intelligent music. Fancy a fight?
