What attracts a person to another?
I have kinda been swept away in this question for the past couple of days. Over vacation I was dicussing with bobby over sushi how boys and girls view beauty differently...like sometimes a girl will think another girl is pretty but a guy will think the opposite. Personaly I don't get, why doesnt everyone think the

firs thing seems obvious, not to be rude at all. i of course still appreciate the fact that you always speak your mind and say what you are feeling. the reason i say this has to do with the fact that while there are some people that a LOT of people might find attrative, it is impossible for EVERYONE to be attracted to one person. (prime example, alex thinks tyra is gross). and of course everyone isn't going to be attracted to the same person. that's how the world goes round.
the chemistry part is what is most important, not the physical aspects. just bc you think someone LOOKS good, doesn't necessarily mean you are ATTRACTED to them in the "liking" sort of way. i mean i can even be somewhat attracted to someone but not want anything to do with them you know? it's the *chemistry* that counts. and i love that question too; what is it? while it's impossible to fully define i have a few ideas of where it comes from. for one, how you were raised. (obv as a psychologist i always stress this for anything in life). while it's not ALWAYS true, there is a lot of evidence that points to the fact that you look for people like your parents. that's how you were raised to understand love thus that's how you subconsciously look for it. and then there's the BRAIN. i asked the neuroscience professor what she thought about love, and if it can be attributed to the brain. she said that while it's a fuzzy area, there are certain reactions that take place in our brain and therefore our body when we are around certain people. they make us feel good so of course we go back for more. (kind of how chocolate works). so i don't mean to take the value out of it and make it all scientific, but that aspect of it does fascinate me. i am still a firm and true believer in love and i love it and think it makes the world go round and all that lol.
as for those things you listed in an appealing partner. if you think about it, many people would say the same thing. i would say the same thing. but that's just the surface. it's how you click, it's the fireworks, it's the chemistry and that little feeling you can't explain. we don't find love when we are looking for it. we don't look at every atheltic smart person and try to see if they are outgoing as well and then think that maybe we can love them. love finds us. it's a mystery of life but i love it. <3
hope you enjoyed my essay. lol
