I have had a bit of a crazy old week!

Last Sunday I drove (in order!) a fire engine, an articulated lorry, a stretch limo, a skid car, a police car, a mahousive tractor and a land rover off road! It was INCREDIBLE! So much fun but I was soooo tired at the end of the day! It was to raise money for The Firefighter's Charity which helps injured firemen, so thank you to everyone who sponsered me! I will try and get hold of some photos but they were all taken by my collagues who haven't put them on fb yet!

The rest of the working week was fairly uneventful, I did get to play with defibrilators (the 'shock' machines they use to restart your heart) and learnt to secure an airway with a funny device called an i-gel, as part of my immediate life support training, which was kinda cool. Although I'm seriously hoping I am never the person who has to led any sort of resuscitation attempt. =S

Yesterday was a long but fun day! I was playing with concert band at Wath town gala, so Amy came over on the train in the morning and we went to the gala. Got very lost along the way, to the point where we were actually heading in the opposite direction to Wath. =S Eventually we got there (late!) and enjoyed many many tombolas, very cheap ice cream, and some home made tomato, onion and chilli chutney (lovely! And only a pound a jar!). We also 'enjoyed' a 'girl band' called the Poppy Chix. Hor-end-ous. =S

After we drove back to Hudd, played some Mario Kart and waited for Gail to arrive, then had some tea and some drinks and went out dancing. Huddersfield is not good on a Saturday night, the music is bad (not even cheesy!) and the people are very drunk and not nice. =( It was quite fun though, espescially as we'd heard Gill (my friend from uni and who does Rainbows with us) was out, so I text her to find out where she was. I got a text back saying we had to go meet her as she had 'exciting news'.

So we walked over to Parish where she was, speculating that she was either engaged, pregnant or graduating, and found her in a very pretty red prom style dress. So what was the big news?!

"I'M MARRIED!!"

Her and her very long term boyfriend, Andy (who she's just moved in with) eloped yesterday afternoon! I say eloped, they'd been planning it for three weeks and just didn't tell ANYONE til yesterday morning, including their parents, who were at the ceremony! We knew she wouldn't be at Rainbows tomorrow because she was on holiday but she didn't say it was her honeymoon!

Anyway, I am over the moon for her, Amy and Gail couldn't get over that she'd kept it secret and not had a big white wedding, but in all honesty, it was sooo Gill to do it like this, I mean she's so laid back she's practically horizontal!

Anyway, that was my exciting news, I just had to tell everyone because I still can't believe she's done it!

Back to work tomorrow, meh! Also Rainbows end of year party, oh yay 15 small children hyped up on sugar!
