And welcome to fun stories in the life of Alison! Today's story features a long, choppy, and confusing night...
Once upon a time, Alison was happily asleep in her nice warm bed. At 3:30am, she was rudely awakened by an obnoxious buzzing noise coming from the hallway. Waking up her roommate, she grabbed her coat and endured running through the hallways to the incredibly loud fire alarm until she ran outside. Now of course, to add some excitement to the story, it was pouring rain. Another fun factor was to add in the fact that the temperature was right around the freezing point, so it was literal freezing rain and everything was covered in a sheet of ice. After waiting outside for about 15-20 minutes, she was allowed back into the building. Soaking wet, freezing, and now wide awake, she tried going back to bed but couldn't sleep for at least another 45 minutes. Then a little while later, her alarm went off and she had to get up and check the roads to see if she could travel to Flint. After many phone calls and decision making, the event had to be cancelled and she again tried to go back to sleep. Only a little while later, her alarm went off again and she had to get up and go to an MLK event on campus. Moral of the story: Don't pull fire alarms in the middle of the night...
The end.
