Dear LJ, I miss you

I've been quite disconcerted by just how much I miss LJ when it's not available so I hope LJ can weather these attacks and find a way of protecting themselves. I wandered over to Dreamwidth as I have a couple of recommendations journals there, but the majority of the fandoms and communities I frequent aren't well represented, or link back to LJ! So with you! I missed it, but then the family and I were away Thur/Fri thankfully, so I could forget about it and hope for it to be back up by the time we got home yesterday, which thankfully it was. I'm far too lazy to move elsewhere, and LJ do seem to try awfully hard to fix the issues when they happen. Of course, a lot of people are just so impatient and cannot bear waiting five seconds, so they have to moan and threaten to jump afterwards.

Anyway... glad to see you're still alive and well, and surviving the snow! Last week was so cold, wasn't it? Very unusual to see so much snow in NZ! Of course we didn't get any, but it was super-cold up here.

We're just back from Whitianga on the sunny Coromandel, which was lovely - mostly warm and the sun was out much of the time.

I love your icon, where is it taken? Glad the Coromandel was sunny.

Well we had snow flakes and then it went, but in the Moutere valley they were making snowmen! You'll have to come over and see the views and the snow capped mountains.

It's frustrating when LJ is down but when it comes to a huge DDoS attack I guess the best they can do is hang on tight and find ways of counteracting it, which takes time... and patience. :-)

This is from the sunny Coromandel, although we didn't go this place this time around. I have been many times before though - it's Cathedral Cove near Hahei, which was used in the movie 'Prince Caspian' as the children's entry point into Narnia the second time around.

Brrr, snow anytime seems a mite much for my Northern sensibilities, but I bet it was pretty! Would love to have seen it (and more than that, you at your place!) but doubt I'll be down any time soon! Will definitely make it one day though!

It's true what you say on the LJ and DDoS attacks front. I'm willing to wait when I have to, thankfully!
