Christmas Week

I had a fantastic Christmas week. Aside from the fact that a coworker called out which ticked me off, I had a great time. Sam surprised me by coming over Wednesday night, a night earlier than I thought he'd come over. He stayed here til today.

We spent Christmas Eve here at my place, and we had lunch at Zen Bistro. It was my second time trying sushi. Sam ordered us Sea urchin and smoked salmon. They were out of sea urchin though, so we ended up with octopus instead. I didn't mind the octopus so much, but the smoked salmon was too much of a fishy taste for me. The weekend before, I had sushi for the first time, and we had red snapper and tuna. I ended up liking the tuna more.

Sam and I tried a creamy screwdriver that night. It consisted of orange juice, vodka, and egg yolk. We tried a Baileys recipe as well, called Choco Bailey's, only we substituted a Godiva chocolate bar instead of the chocolate mentioned in the recipe.

Christmas Day we went over to his parent's house and opened some presents. His mom made me a beautiful afghan blanket, which is currently being used on my couch :) His sister gave me some yummy-smelling reed diffusers. Sam's gift was off the charts though! He got me half a day at my favorite spa here in town - the Mokara Spa at the Omni Hotel. HALF A DAY! It includes a manicure, pedicure, facial, 50 minute massage, and a wax package. Omg, I can't WAIT to use it!! SO excited for that :D I gave Sam a tie he really wanted, along with a spice rack for his house. We watched some of A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation on tv.

The food was delicious at their house as well. Prime rib, mashed potatoes, gravy, and some homemade bread. We had homemade spiced egg nog, which was super frothy and delicious. We hung out there a little while longer, than came back to my place.

Yesterday evening, after I went to my Kung Fu class (which kicked my butt HARD) we went to the gym and had a good workout. Sam made us some delicious burritos for dinner. Then we decided to try one more Baileys recipe. Verrrrry yummy. I added a bit of chocolate syrup in mine :D We had a fun Saturday night, and he went home today. I absolutely loved having him here for so long. Made for a super fun week for me. :) I'm looking forward to New Year's Eve with him :) ♥
