Playing Catchup
So I have a couple important things to update about, seeing as how I haven't had a real update on here in FOR-E-VER.
I got a desk and chair at Staples, since I needed a workspace and somewhere other than my couch to do homework on. Pic:
Needed to get that monitor too. I can't exactly put my tv on my desk.
Moved my cable modem to the jack near the desk, and found out how nice it was that it was never activated or whatever, so had to have a technician out. But before I had THAT done, we had this super awesome blizzard come up on us last Thursday:
My desk, chair, and monitor were actually delivered that same day. I can't believe they were still delivered. People were crazy to be out in that weather!
The next day, had to go do drug testing (aka pee in a cup).
Friday, I worked. Sam came over, and I came home to an incredibly awesome surprise dinner made by him. He made some absolutely delicious hamburgers called Roman Holiday Burgers. He toasted some Kaiser rolls in the oven with butter on them, then melted mozzarella cheese on the burgers. He had drinks and mead poured for us, and he'd even cleaned my coffee table for me! :) He did a lot before I came home. He even came down and helped me bring my groceries up :) Dinner was such a nice treat :) I've probably said it a lot already, but he makes me so happy and treats me so good :) ♥
Saturday morning I had to work, but Sam stayed here so the Comcast tech could come and activate the jack I moved my cable modem to.
After work, went to Target and bought some Logitech computer speakers and some printer ink. Then went to Best Buy and bought a cd/dvd drive which I have yet to install because I'm lazy. :D
Before dinner, we munched on some raw red bell peppers and cucumber with ranch dressing while watching Casino Royale.
For dinner, I found this recipe for Tequila Lime Chicken. Turned out pretty damn yummy. I also made some Zatarain's rice to go with it.
We watched a movie during dinner on On Demand called Mutant Chronicles. It was on there before it hits the theaters in April. It wasn't a bad movie, but not as exciting as I thought it might be. Had some decent gore in it though.
Sunday morning we woke up at noon. :D I made us a potato pancake brunch, only this time with chives mixed in, but neither of us really noticed a very big difference in taste. So next time, no chives. :)
Today, Monday, was my first day of nursing school! I woke up to snow. It almost looked like it did in the pic above, so I thought there would be a possibility of no school. I checked and rechecked the news on tv AND online, and no closings were announced. I left at 7am, and finally arrived at 9:15am. That was a terrible drive. Stupid snow. I like seeing it, but I hate driving in it.
We just had orientation today. Filled out a bunch of papers, introduced ourselves, got uniforms and books. I met a couple girls who I seemed to get along with pretty well.
Now I'm just tired. I actually have class tomorrow, then more orientation Wednesday, then class Thursday, and nothing on Friday. Hooray for a three day weekend! :)
I have to buy one of those roller backpacks though. There are sooooo many books. I'm doing that tomorrow. Kohl's is having a BOGO free sale on luggage/backpacks! Maybe I'll keep them both, or maybe sell one on craigslist, who knows. :D
