Gosh, it's been a little while. Break has been quite lovely so far. I've been basically doing nothing the past week, which was my plan all along, and it's every bit as awesome as I imagined. I've gotten a fair amount of driving practice done in preparation for my driving test next week. God, when did that get so close? I'm not totally conviced I'll pass with flying colors, but meh. I'm not too worried about it. I'm driving B2 to Hebrew school in about an hour, and I'll bet big money that when he finds out he's going to say something along the lines of, "Oh great. So I'm going to get in a car crash and die on the way to Hebrew school?"
Speaking of that little guy, I've been spending more time with B2 since getting home than almost anyone else. B1 and all my friends are still in school, so it's been me and B2 against the world. He's really pretty awesome. We did this spherical puzzle of the Earth, and we killed everyone in Antarctica and some ocean or another a few times, but besides that we managed to save the entire planet. You can thank us later. He did a pretty good job at his piano recital over the weekend, and I've been helping him with his homework, and taking him on walks with me, and having a grand old time. Earlier in the week I was spending the day with my dad and didn't get home until around 10:00 at night, and my mom told me that B2 wanted to wait up for me to get home. He only agreed to go to bed after my mom promised him that I'd kiss him goodnight when I got home. I loves him. :-)
And then there's baking. I made these really yummy peanut butter-chocolate chip-oatmeal cookies, and these really weird but still pretty good vegan chai brownies. We had some family friends over for dinner and one of them is lactose-intolerant and allergic to nuts, and the best recipe I could find was a vegan one. The brownies were pretty good, but man, they were weird.
INSERT TOTAL CHANGE OF SUBJECT HERE!!
Was I the only one who was relatively unimpressed by Bones last week? It was okay, but it was no "Santa in the Slush" and certainly no "Man in the Fallout Shelter." I'm steadily making my way through CSI; I just started season 2 last night. I'm kind of scared of the world right now. And once B1 comes home we're going to watch more X-Files, so I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I'll be scared of my own shadow come the end of break. But it's for a good cause.
Peace OUT.
