I'm not the neatest nor the cleanest person in the world. Sometimes my books-bags-clothes-shoes get strewn around my small dorm room. I leave my cereal bowl on my desk for a day longer than I should. I forget to vacuum, I have trouble finding time to do laundry.
But that's all in my room. In the common areas, the living room, the kitchen - I keep clean. I wipe down the countertops after I use them, and unless I just made a blanketfort then I clean up my things in the living room (and they let the blanketfort stay up for a few days, too!). So it's frustrating me, on the day that three of the five of us have already left for Thanksgiving break, where we are gone for five days, to have dirty, dirty stovetops (I haven't used the stove in literally a fortnight, I ran out of eggs), splattered microwaves (I cover my dishes, plus I haven't microwaved tomato sauce lately), soapscum in the sinks (I'm probably partially a guilty party to this one), refrigerators full of perishable food (my shelf is empty!) and trash in the trash can (I'm not on trash-duty this week).
I don't like coming back to smelly living situations and moldy food (once freshman year was enough for me, thank you!) so I will be doing an intense clean of the apartment before I go. Focusing on the kitchen and the area of the bathroom I directly use. I don't have time to do everything, which frustrates me. I think that's more it - because people didn't do their shares, I don't have the time to do everyone's for them.
Sigh.
blanketfort is a home,
