DUNGEONS | area name in the subject please! noobtrampolines December 22 2010, 22:35:42 UTC
[ Same shtick with the fields, only all of the dungeons are entirely crafted from gingerbread, complete with icing molding, gumdrop and peppermint decorations, and other candy embellishments the size of your head. Same themed monsters, same holiday item drops, same occasional warp points with bonfires and hot cocoa! Be careful, though. If you idle too long in the dungeons, chim witches will come and try to kidnap you! ]

[having -- more or less -- finally wrapped his head around this "game" notion, Kain is torn between annoyance and the desire to knock his head against the nearest available wall.]

[luckily for the integrity of his cranium, he's decided to be more constructive with his time. unluckily for the integrity of other body parts, his idea of "constructive" at the moment is to go spelunking in a dim dark dungeon as a way of thumbing his nose at the weakness of his recent past.]

[... to say he wasn't expecting a jolly gingerbread dungeon would be just a bit~ of an understatement. but he's entering anyway, damnit ~!]

[A dungeon made of gingerbread and other assorted looking goodies was something that dreams were made of for Amaterasu; it hadn't even occurred to her her that she may run into another after allowing this "game" to input random keywords for her and send her to some dungeon or field.

She had just thought a good run through a dungeon would help get out some idle frustration from...earlier events. She was used to sleeping for a long period of time; she was even used to having a foggy memory of events; but these sorts of things had happened for a reason back home. Here...here she was unsure of the reasons and it was cause enough for a little grumpiness on Amaterasu's part.

It was hard to decide, however, if she should attempt to clear the dungeon or eat it instead. (It all looked so mouthwatering good...) The sound of someone entering the dungeon causes her to cut her thoughts off for a brief moment as she tilts her head in the arrival's direction.]

[someone else?]

[Kain still found the idea of running into other explorers strange, which -- he noted irritably -- only demonstrated to him just how long he'd been alone on that damned mountain before arriving here.]

[but that didn't mean he'd pass up the chance to make an alliance, temporary or otherwise --]

Searching here for a specific reason? Or just for the challenge?

Shall we go together, if I might suggest it -- there's safety in numbers, even if that number is only two.

[He was certainly quick in asking now, wasn't he?

She offers him a small shrug of her shoulders in response as she returns her gaze to the walls and various festive decorations. She really had no clue as to why the dungeon was suddenly designed as such or looked like it, but...a bottomless pit such as herself enjoyed the sight. She returns looks back at Kain a moment later with a look that reads 'A little bit of both.' in response to the specific reason/challenge question.

His suggestion to go together makes her smile a little.

There certainly was safety in numbers and she had grown quite used to having a companion at her side (or, in Issun's case, on her head) so it was hard to say no to such a thing. She only offers a small nod of her head, opting for her usual silence and relying body language.]

[unusual, to say the least ... someone who didn't speak -- and, he presumed, could not cry out in warning or pain -- entering a dungeon alone?]

[but then all kinds seemed to exist in this so-called game, and perhaps the odds were stacked differently for her. he'd seen stranger, if he admitted it.]

[her little smile is returned as he gestures down the corridor --]

Then, shall we see what we may see --

[She had her reasons for not speaking but, since it never seemed to hinder her or anyone else (nor did any concern over the matter come up in conversation) Amaterasu gives a small nod of her head, taking off down the corridor in a slow jog; Divine Retribution was floating behind her as a pair of fans appeared in her hands from Hammer Space.

Would the monsters here still look the same? Or would they also have some sort of theme to them? It was a rather exciting thought.

But, like he had said...they shall see what they may see. Hopefully he won't mind a companion who would go from one thing to another with little thought, or grow bored of something a bit too easily.]

[seeing what looked to be agreement -- if the weapons chosen, if weapons they were, were odd he had seen enough oddness to know not to discount them -- Kain sketched a brief salute and took point, heading deeper into the dungeon.]

[he trusted her to come with him, and to signal if anything were spotted ~]
