CHARACTERS | OPEN TO ALL!! DATE | Nov 15-19 RATING | PG SUMMARY | There's someone (or something) out there that's pulling pranks on people with your face! Track them down and beat them up to show them who's boss!
Another day, another round of selling her monster drops for extra cash. Leviathan had settled into a routine of sorts as of late, and everything was going smoothly as usual...
Until she heard a certain comment aside from one of the NPCs, which caused her to perk a brow.
But, she assumed it was referring to someone else-- after all, Leviathan wasn't the type to go around causing trouble (At least, not if she didn't have to.) And so she continued on her merry way.
That is, she attempted to, but the stares and whispers from those she was trying to barter with inevitably grated just a little too far on her nerves.
There's a brief commotion as someone rushed through the crowds but once that disruption was gone; "Goodness, don't feign innocence with us! Just because some of us don't go out there to defeat all those monsters doesn't mean you players can just get away with doing whatever you wa-"
"Leviathan! That copy-"
"-nt around here. We saw you making off with some of our supplies earlier today and we won't stand for it!" the NPC claimed. A 'chorus' of unhappy emotes erupted around him once he finished; obviously they're in complete agreement-
Wait, when did Harpuia get here?
Dressed in his familiar green armor, her fellow guardian soon landed next to her and... Seemed to be out of breath. It would appear that either he's been chasing someone for some time now or that his jets were draining his stamina faster than it should. "That copy-" pant "-did you see?"
"Honestly!! With the way you all push us around! We won't stand for it. >( "
"Harpuia!" After months of not being able to warp around as they pleased, it was a bit startling to see him drop in out of the blue again. Leviathan's eyes darted back and forth-- between both Harpuia and the crowd that seemed to be piecing itself back together after the minor disruption.
"What are you talking about, what copy?!" the blue Guardian began to demand, but before she could carry on, another whirlwind rush swept through the crowd, this time knocking several people off their feet.
And there, in the alley, a flash of green and a glimpse of blue. Leviathan put the situation together quickly after that, and with a nod, grabbed onto Harpuia's wrist and started dragging him past the crowd of NPCs.
"Ah-!" Harpuia had barely caught his breath before he was pulled off and back into the chase. It took a stumble or two before the green Reploid was back on his feet, chasing their shadows through the alleyways of Mac Anu. Maybe they would have gotten to the Chaos Gate faster if the Doppelgangers hadn't lead them on a chase through the entire town first.
At least the two of them had the keywords for the area...
Despite that though-
"I can't wait to retire those copycats." Harpuia ground out. Really, to go from being the esteemed Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia to suddenly being treated like scoundrels. It just rubbed him wrong (or maybe the fact that using his armor for extended periods of time was draining his energy faster than it should).
Leviathan didn't need any more confirmation. The keywords were entered, and in a moment the scenery had changed from that of the usually-calm root town to a field that, for all assumed intents and purposes looked quite fitting for its name.
And waiting there...
It was eerie, coming face to face with something that looked and moved exactly like oneself. Like a mirror image, sans the mirror, and moving of its own accord in even the slightest ways made them all the more chilling to watch. Of course, Leviathan wasn't here just for sightseeing.
She was going to tear this copy a new one.
Hopefully, despite all of that anger in the atmosphere, the partnered Reploids' battle style wouldn't fall apart-- oh wait there goes Leviathan, charging in with her spear and an enraged yell.
Now that the doppelganger was standing still instead of running around town, Harpuia could actually take a good look at the stranger. Though his armor seemed to have been powered down here, it didn't prevent him from analyzing the enem-
"Leviathan, wait-"
《 OUTBREAK OF BATTLE 》
So his concerns were quickly told to shut up when Leviathan jumped straight into battle. There was no time for him to tell the blue reploid off for her carelessness when he was attacked himself.
The doppelgangers were dressed the way the two Guardians usually look in The World; lightly dressed and each wielding a unique lance or twin swords. The fighting styles they use follows the pre-programmed move set given to their individual classes. However, based on the amount of damage that they're capable of dealing to the players was a significant amount and, despite Leviathan and Harpuia's skills, the copies couldn't be knocked down easily. Looks like this was going to be a difficult battle.
Leviathan was already exchanging blows with her copied self, and though the blows were easy enough to detect and attempt blocking, they packed more of a punch than she would have liked. Well, all the better, she supposed, as she continued to push for damage-- a challenge was always welcome, as she was getting bored of all the regular battling around here.
"C'mon, don't you know anything interesting?!"
Leave it to her to find something else to complain about, though...
