SUMMARY | It's time for another event! There's a large ship docked in the Mac Anu harbor that all of the NPCs are talking about, saying that if you board it, you'll experience a taste of summer.
LOG | (
the sun goes down alone )
So, perhaps, that having spent several months of seeing nothing but twilight was enough for them to take notice of how everything took on a different feel when the sun rose instead of set. For three of them, it was seeing the world as it could be- as it should be.
Hakuren had arrived at the harbor first, curiosity getting the better of him. The fact that he had offered to help an NPC carry some items to the harbor helped too. It took a few hours before he found the will to board the ship; his motion sickness was something he took great care to avoid running into, especially now that he didn't have Bishop Labrador's medicine with him.
Suzaku had... not 'arrived' so much as dropped into the harbor, watching the people board and chat and just enjoying the subtle difference that the light brought. Even if the mask covered everything in a blue-green hue, Suzaku still had his memories of that one fond summer. He sent a brief flashmail to Euphemia about this before ducking onto the ship.
Surprisingly, Shadow had boarded the ship without any pomp or circumstance. Despite his outward appearance, this sort of thing was entirely alien ('I've been hanging around that blue hedgehog too long') to him. And for that, he wanted to see it for himself, this World that was so different from his own. It was exciting, even if he would never admit it out loud.
Unlike the other three, Harpuia - being small and lightly built despite the change from Reploid to human - didn't end up on that boat by choice. Oh, he could operate in the rain easily enough, it was when he was introduced to the cold or dunked into a large body of water that Harpuia would encounter system errors. From that experience, the Guardian had decided that, no, he was not going on this little expedition, thank you very much. It's a shame, then, that he had somehow ended up in a group of NPC that were hurrying to catch the boat before it left.
One undignified squawk, some odd looks and a number of apologies later, the four of them had arrived on the island paradise and... Were looking rather disgruntled at the sudden change in clothes. Well, Hakuren just looked like he was trying to get his stomach to settle. A moment to take stock of their surroundings led to the each of them making their own way to the various stalls and hangouts on the island.
[ooc: because I didn't want to make one for each of them 8( They're not hanging out together despite what that image may lead you to believe. orz Feel free to tag one of them here without fear of someone else overhearing. They're just chillin' and having nostalgia trips]

Figuring the boat ride probably hadn't been much fun -- or that Harpuia likely hadn't wanted to be near the ocean at all -- X put a gentle hand on the other's shoulder after coming up to him, giving a cheerful smile.
"Harpuia."
Reply
"... Master X."
Reply
"Are you all right?" If nothing else, maybe he could help calm down the flitty bird. Or at least distract him somewhat.
Reply
"...!?" Anything else he was going to say is stopped at the sight of that scar on your stomach.

"This happened a long time ago, Harpuia," he said quietly, voice serious. "During a fight with Sigma."
Reply
"My apologies then," there was an odd motion before he settled on just nodding. Master X was a hero from the Maverick Wars and the Elf wars... But to think that a wound like that would not have been properly repaired. Just how long ago did this injury happen?
"What brought you out to a location like this, Master X?"
Reply
"Please, don't call me Master, Harpuia. I just came here to enjoy myself, that's all."
Come on. A pretty day, and a beach vacation? Who wouldn't love that?

Now that's a tall order, X. Harpuia hardly considered himself an equal to the leader of Neo Arcadia, despite having acted as steward after Copy X and Phantom were both rendered incapable of leading. At least, that's what he believed.
Harpuia looked around at the last part. "The environment here is beautiful..."
Much better than what happened back in their world (but X need not know that). Now if only he didn't have to take a boat back to shore.
Reply
"Isn't it? I have to admit, whatever else about them aside, the GMs make beautiful places."
At least, he assumed the GMs did this. Who else would?

"It's so clean..." Harpuia said as he stared straight up into the blue sky. Now, Neo Arcadia was a beautiful place unto itself (they had made sure that it was alive and healthy and safe-) but this place was different. None of the plants held any of the mechanical components that was so prevalent in Neo Arcadia.
Harpuia found himself feeling a slight twinge of jealousy. Why did this place have something so beautiful, yet the world they worked so hard for was all but dead? How was this just?
"Pardon my asking, but what were you planning on doing here?" because Harpuia needed a distraction and one that preferably didn't include him being pushed into the salty ocean.

"It is, isn't it? Sometimes it's easy to forget that the world actually can and should look like this. ...the part about being data aside, anyway."
Harpuia got another smile, though this one shifted to something almost.... childlike? at the question. As if that wasn't odd enough, X held up the small bucket and shovel cheerfully.
"Build a sandcastle. It seems like fun, and since this place is obviously here to relax in, I didn't think it would be a problem."
Reply
He was going to comment on something else - the state of their world, of Master X's world - but the childlike shift completely distracted the Guardian. He'd seen many different expressions on his Master's face before, but this certainly was the strangest one yet. Granted, there was never much opportunity for X to enjoy himself back in Neo Arcadia or any reason for him to have such an expression... But still.
Harpuia tilted his head to one side when X showed off the bucket and shovel. A Master of the air, he never really paid much attention to Fafnir or Leviathan's antics on land and sea. Not that either of them had the time to indulge in such things either but all the same. We shall not recall that one time the two of them decided to 'play' with Zero instead of chasing down Elpizo like Harpuia had ordered them to, no we shall not.
"A... sandcastle?" he parroted before letting out a sigh. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt..."

X blinked a little himself, giving the other a rather curious look. The birdie was staring at him a little, and the brown-haired male was a little afraid that he'd said something odd. It seemed normal enough to him, but then again...
Of course, any worries faded and he smiled back again once Harpuia actually spoke.
"Since you don't like swimming, is there anything you'd like to do here?"
Reply
"I... just wanted to enjoy the scenery." Harpuia admitted, pokerface in place and tone as even as he could make it. Were he still a Reploid, the neutral expression would have worked better. As a human, his stoic expression is betrayed by a slightly faraway look in his eyes.

"Then would you like to walk around with me instead? That sounds like a good idea."
