Behind the scenes, Kain was furious in the GM base at Mac Anu. He slammed a fist on the desk and growled, before the frantic clattering of keys could be heard again. The system was acting up yet again and he was honestly tired of this bullshit. The new areas they'd been designing were trying to connect to the warp system repeatedly, and it wasn't enough for him to keep up with.
"Keane! Get your ass out of bed and help me!"
But outside of the building behind the Quest shop, all was quiet this evening. In fact, upon warping, one might say it was too quiet.
----
Players warp to half-finished areas devoid of monsters, and also devoid of the usual music playing on the hidden speakers in areas and dungeons. There isn't far to go, as they're all a sort of "bubble" area, but every area was unique in itself. One is just dilapidated bridges over lava, one is a large floating dragon statue fashioned into a castle above a lake, one is a large underground lake with naught but a glowing white tree on an island in the center, yet another warped you to a small piece of land on a cliffside beside a large stone gate-- and so on an so forth.
Given time to explore and poke around, it is obvious there's truly nothing of value yet. In fact, it gets boring rather quick.
Until you hear something approaching. Whether they're immense steps quaking the ground, the slithering of fabric dragging in the dirt, or something else entirely depends on the area.
