Another player is wandering through Dol Dona, enjoying the change in weather and the sheer lack of red in his vision. Sure, the sunset was nice but perpetual twilight? That was just taking things a bit too far in Fayt's opinion. At least they were opening a new server(?) to make up for it.
More importantly, how was he suppose to explain something like this to Nel?
"I'll just deal with it as it comes... I guess." In the meantime, maybe he should check out what weapons or items were up for sale...
[ooc: action/prose tags are totally cool with me. 8); and Fayt will probably end up choosing to go after the items list because HE CARES ABOUT OUTFITTING HIS PARTY WITH NAISU WEPONS ;^;]

[ And guess who's already standing there forking over a ton of spare items for sale. YOU GUESSED IT. It's DIOOOOOOONNNNNNNN!!-- no wait, it's just that douchebag captain Pigtails the Wicked. But he notices Fayt and tosses a broadsword at him as it materializes in his hand. He's getting the hang of the Relic, anyway. ]
[so like... There's a giant broadsword coming at him. The first thing Fayt does?
Dodge it like a bamf.
Then he'll yell at Albel for being so careless as the Edge Punisher retrieves the weapon]
Albel?! What in The World is wrong with you? You don't just throw these things in the middle of town!! [and here, he gestures to some of the terrified NPCs quivering off to one side. Albel the Wicked indeed. Times like these, Fayt found himself missing Cliff and Maria and Sophia... /sigh]
[ There's a pause, as he handles the coins the shopkeeper handed him before stuffing them in the pouch. ]
I obviously came to check out the next town. If I'm understanding correctly, there's access to higher-leveled fields. And a mission to take, for more levels. Does that answer your question?

If they sent the invitation out to us, it's expected we're able to participate, fool. Does that brain in your head serve a purpose?
[ But he flaps his good hand in a dismissive wave. He obviously doesn't expect the answer he already knows, natch. ]
Do as you please.
[ And he finishes up his errands, cinching the coin pouch closed and tying it back onto his belt. To excuse playercesting we'll just assume Albel already got a list from Kain bluh bluh he is of the vegetable caste. ]

[Give or take twenty minutes, here she comes.
Unhappy, ready for a fight wherever it might come from, and with a poker face to rival a high-priced lawyer. Albel may as well not exist for all the attention she gives him; Fayt gets a swift salute.]

[ His reply had been a simple chilly glare, but he gave a decisively swift wave of the hand and wandered around the circular set of shops to buy a few more restoratives. When he returns and finds the Aquarian spy there, she's met with equal amounts of attention. ]
Not going to invite the oaf and make it a party, then?
*pun deleted for being horrible*skinbrandFebruary 9 2011, 06:43:18 UTC
[Not fighting yet. She has a snide remark or dozen ready at all times in case there's an egotistical mass-murderer nearby. But Fayt won't have to deal with that right this second! Joyous.
She snaps a quick look at him, though, prioritizing the "oaf" above any vegetables that need questing for.]
... I'm not going to walk away after I gave you my word. [There's a contemptuous undercurrent. Not quite a direct jab, but close to a challenge.] If you have any worthwhile news, Albel, please.

I never said anything about seeing him, you gullible fools. It's just a matter of preference. Perhaps we could find someone equally as muscled and stupid, willing to follow orders properly.
[ And it seems he's found something a good deal more interesting than Nel and her attempts to ruffle him. Oh look, some dirt. Fancy that. ]
I'm afraid it'd take more than unfavorable company to cause me to lay down a mission I'd originally intended to do. Whether you two can keep up, however, is none of my concern.
Nel never agreed to be following Albel's lead-- obeying the terms of a truce is one thing, but taking his orders is another animal. The irritation stemming from proximity threatens to boil over and manifest as a biting comment, but she didn't get her job from spazzing out every time she has to do something distasteful.
So she swallows the vitriol and accepts that she, unlike them, has more to lose by raising a fracas.
Smiling hurts her face but by Apris she's doing it.]

[totally ignoring your question, by the way]

If you can't use it, then give it back so I can sell it. They pay better for items here than in the other town.
[ Totally ignoring anything you say too. How long can they continue to bounce unrelated conversational pieces at each other, I wonder~? ]

[a sigh] At least you're being productive...? [he stores the broadsword in the Relic before walking over to where Albel was]
... But selling your unwanted items can't be the only reason why you're here.

But I don't think we can access those new fields yet. Did they mention what the limit was?
...
And if it's another quest, I'll go with you. It'll be quicker if we work together. [kinda wants to invite Nel along as well :\ ]

[he pulls out his Relic] ... Would you mind if I asked Nel to come along too? It'll be good for everyone to get used to working together again.
[and he's already sent a flashmail before Albel answers]

Hm? [Fayt looks up at the mention of-] Cliff? I haven't seen him around... Did he show up here too?
And according to the GM [turns to Nel] We're questing for vegetables. And this is where the two of you turn around and walk off, isn't it?

It never hurts to ask. Thank you both for your 'cooperation'.
So, Albel, since you're the one who accepted the quest first, I guess we'll have to follow your lead. Where are we going?
[the insult is pointedly ignored in favor of getting things done. Yup, this is just like the good ol' days, isn't it?]
