Review! Dark Knight

So, I jumped on the bandwagon and watched Dark Knight just like everyone else and their dog did, lol.

So far it is my most favorite of the Batman movies. So good! I'm very, very pleased with how the Joker was written, and how Heath Ledger portrayed him. In other other Batman movies, the villains are so cheesy! This Joker was not--he was worthy of being a villain, and that, to me, is awesome :) And I love how he does what he does because he wants to and not for money. More than just a fancy thief. A true psychopath.

And because I'm a shameless fangirl, I think Christian Bale is the yummiest of the Batman actors so far *nods*

Husband thought the scene in which Batman's bike was introduced was incredibly cheesy--he says that a bike with tires that fat would never be able to maneuver around like it did.

Why is it that super heroes have to have cops chasing them all the time? At least with this movie, Batman dished it out and gave them a reason to (even if it was false).

I've noticed a trend with super hero movies these days (like this one and the recent Spiderman flicks)--they involve more 3-dimensional characters and more 3-dimensional plots than the superhero movies of old (but there will always be at least a little cheesiness--it's a guy fighting in a costume! come on!) This movie delivered on that. Happy to see DC comics catching up with the Marvel comics fad.

All in all I'm impressed. I'm hoping they introduce Robin in the next movie. We'll see what happens!
