This week I have done diversity training (full day) and a two hour training session on a new appraisal system at work. The diversity training was interesting, and opened my eyes quite  bit. I did not know about the different legislations that have been passed in the UK regarding discriminations of various kinds - on the grounds of gender, race (after I did anthropology I still feel awkward with that word. Why is that?), sexual preference, disability. Blah blah. To be honest, I could not name the Australian legislations that have been passed though.

I spent the day at the other museum yesterday working on images for the new gallery and attended a meeting. I had pointed out last week that I cannot get on with ordering the images from the various sources if I don't know what images they will actually use! So the meeting was all about finalising the images they want. Seemed silly to me that I could go about oredering the images, spending money on them, and then they didn't end up using them. I got praise for the images I had found for the gallery. Over the last 6 weeks I have been doing this job, it has been a case of... "Alex, we need an image of an African in London. Can you find one?" Sure I can! That's what you pay me for, right?

Tomorrow I should get some feedback from my boss re the duty manager role I have been doing since the beginning of May. I asked him about it, and he mentioned that it will be only a short meeting, as all the feedback he has is positive. Yay! :-)

Man this post has been very work related.

In other news, Scott has just booked us a trip to Prague for ye olde 4th anniversary. 4 years? Amazing! :-)

And that is it for now.
