I'm trying to restart the Project Galactic Guide. This is an amateur writing project started by a bunch of university students some 20 years ago. We loved the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and wanted to write humourous stuff like Douglas Adams.

So I have done zero words on my NaNoWriMo. The problem is that I want to plan enough so that the story just falls out. Yeah, right.

I have a question which has interested me for some time.

Do Writers read as much as Fans?It seems to me that once you've set yourself the task to be a writer, the time you spend writing is time away from reading. Do these people take time from elsewhere, or do they read less than your average fan ( Read more... )
