I so want a digital camera. *sigh*
Day two was better than day one, everyone was more relaxed and everything. Everyone's friends. =D
And I was right, South Africa DID win Most Popular. =D They promptly awarded a prize of their own - a bag of Minties to the Secretary-General (Who was pretty good looking =D) because he was wearing a Mint-Green tie the day before. When you get up to talk, you're supposed to say "Mr. Secretary-General. We, the delegates from (whatever country)...blah blah blah. The South African guys would usually say that, but with their own flair. And once they said "Honourable Mr. Minty. We, the delegates..." which was pretty funny. =D
Saudi Arabia won best group, so they go through to the National MUNA at Parliament House in Canberra. The girl who talked most was actually crying! But they really did deserve it, I was hanging out with Piper (the one who didn't talk quite so much) at lunchtime, and I told her I thought they were going to win. And Lo! Right again! Australia got Runners-Up, which was well-deserved too.
Best costume went to Kenya. I must say, it would've been hard to pick there were some awesome costumes. Again, I wish I had a digital camera.
And, being a 15-year-old girl, I must comment on the Hot Boy situation. =D As stated previously, the Secretary-General was a bit of all right. It was quite funny because we were allowed to pass "diplomatic notes" which had to be related to the issue, like passing arguments to another country if you weren't going to get to speak or whatever, and there were guys that would be like messengers and take them. If they weren't actually about the issues, they'd just get taken straight to the Secretary-General. So someone was passing around a not that said "Who else thinks the Secretary-General is hot?" and it got taken up to him, and you could see him trying not to laugh.
Anyways. Hot guys. That's what I was talking about.
Sam (Russia) - Tall, slightly curly brown hair. Goes to Blackburn High, so of course I asked if he played an instrument. He plays piano, so yes, he does have lovely long pianist's fingers. Nice smile, and very easy to talk to. Complete fluke, he was the first person I saw in the morning from the other teams, and the last one I saw too, because we took the train together. Pretty easy to talk to.
Guy (South Africa) - Very tall, short dark hair. He's pretty funny. When everyone was passing around paper wanting email addresses, everyone would put their country too, so you'd know who was who, and he always put "Guy (South Africa - The tall one ;))" Really confident y'know, really friendly.
Roman (Canada) - Average height, relatively long blonde hair. Like an All-American Blonde Boy type, you might say. His fringe was too long, so he kept shaking his head to get it out of his eyes. But he speaks very well.
Robert (Israel) - Red hair, quite lean and lanky, and he had one of those little Jewish cap thingies on. I dunno what they're called. He speaks very well too.
Sam (Australia) - Dark hair, thick-rimmed glasses...basically he pulls off the "intellectual emo" look, rather than the "depressed rock/shitty emo band" look that is so prevalent right now. With a dark purple shirt. Like, it's mainly black, but when the light hits it right, it's purple. Very good speaker too, obviously, since they got runners-up.
Basically what made MUNA a hotspot for hot guys is that fact that you know they're all smart. The schools aren't about to send idiots for this sort of thing. =D
On a side note, I did something incredibly stupid - I took the wrong bus. The right route, but it was going the wrong way. It was pretty cold and dark outside, so I didn't want to wait at some shitty little bus stop by myself for Dad to come and pick me up, so I just stayed on the bus, and got taken all the way out to LILYDALE and back. It took like...one and a half hours. SO VERY GLAD I had my iPod. *hugs Alessandro*
