I was somewhere between pissed off and incredulous

Jul 23, 2012 21:10

Two customers were unreasonable at work today. Mostly people at my work are actually super nice, so when people are entitled arseholes, it really stands out. I work in a supermarket, by the way. I run the self-checkout area and sometimes serve at the Service Desk when it's busy, selling cigarettes and doing refunds and stuff like that ( Read more... )

rl: work, grr

Turns out she DID come in to complain about me but the supervisor didn't even pass it on cos she was like "Haha what Kim wouldn't do that..."

she. just. what WHY?!?!

i can vaguely (not really, but let's just pretend) understand her not moving the trolley for everyone else, but how can she feel so self-entitled about blocking off the entire exit so that someone in a mobility scooter is also stuck. like other people may be able to duck out another entrance if they can be bothered, but that other lady obviously did not have a choice... AND IT WAS FUCKING BUSY. ARGH. i don't get it at all. she should be banned from appearing in public.

Idk man obviously there was something else going on. Like that is so unreasonable it's like...how do you function in the world with that level of empathy?

well, fair enough... but i guess i don't really understand because even when i feel like shit or someone has pissed me off, i don't transfer that onto other people, let alone the way in which she chose to act!

I more meant that possibly she has something psychological going on. Because that's so incredibly out of step with the real world that it's like "...what?"

oh i see. that could be the case, i mean you were there so you had more of a chance to observe her mannerisms... but some people are just plain rude. last weekend some lady took offence at the fact that i asked 'and the drink as well?' when i was entering her purchase because she thought i was trying to imply that she was stealing it o.O

She didn't have any mannerisms that would necessarily indicate like, idk autism or anything like that I just mean that either she's a raging arsehole (possible) or she legit has some difficulty with empathy.

lmao calm your farm, lady.

well, whatever it is, i hope you don't have the misfortune of dealing with her again!

ikr? i was so shocked by her reaction. and then she went on a huge rant about how she had put it on the counter before. like, jfc, we had a long line of people, i didn't see you put it there - which was why i asked in the first place. *shakes head*

I haven't seen her again so I hope it stays that way XD

That's so weird, like especially if it was a bottle of water or coke or something I would assume the person was asking me because they weren't sure if I'd brought it in with me or whether I was purchasing it there at that moment.

fingers crossed!

I would assume the person was asking me because they weren't sure if I'd brought it in
basically this. a lot of people bring things in with them so it definitely pays to ask! it was a deep spring water, so maybe not exactly a common thing to bring but whatever. she's the one who was up in arms, not me. i was perfectly civil with her, my boss was right there, so *shrugs*

but enough ranting!
are you having a good birthday? :D

Yeah especially where I work, a lot of people bring in drinks or newspapers, so.

I did, yes! bananedaiquiri is still here now actually, we're watching Graham Norton 11x11 (which is HILARIOUS, if you haven't seen it, you should) :) And my cake had RDJ, Hiddles and James MvAcoy on it so clearly CAKE FTW.

you know, i have never actually watched ANY Graham Norton ep. totally filing it away as a memo to watch before bed :)
sdkjfhasdkl awesome cake sounds awesome! that would be my equivalent of having Jensen, Tom Hardy and Shahrukh Khan on a cake haha.

glad you're enjoying your day :)

Oh man there are some really funny eps like with Adele and Miranda Hart, and one with RDJ and Jude Law, oh gosh sometimes it's so funny. And people interact in such unexpected ways sometimes, I love it. :)

I wanted Benedict on there too but he didn't really fit compositionally. SORRY BEN.

Thanks bb :D
