Back! (I think.)

After a long, long hiatus, I've found I rather miss LJ, and all you friends there. I don't know how active I'll be, but I hope to post more often, read your journals (if you still allow me as a friend!), and get to know you all again ( Read more... )

Did you and David separate? Or do you mean he just needs a temporary residence up north while he builds his business? What sort of teaching were you doing?

Good to hear from you again!

No, we're not separated -- in fact our marriage is stronger with the time spent apart. :P Absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all. It's just that, after several years of trying to build a business based in Los Angeles, he finally gave up, and since he has so many more connections in San Francisco, as well as access to a studio location where he can store some of his larger equipment, he's trying to get things started up there.

*hugs* Good to hear from you, too!

Good to see you! I hope David is having an easier time with his business in SF. It's never easy getting a business going but having connections can sure make the difference.

Looking forward to hearing from you more often. :)

Yeah, down here no one took him seriously because -- and I really think this is what they thought -- he wasn't pretty enough. :( So much down here is appearance-oriented.

His talent deserves far better treatment and respect than that. Hard as it is, I'm glad he made the move. I'm glad you're holding up well, too.

Funny. No one ever told us about this sort of thing when we wanted so much to grow up, did they? :P

Nope, they never mention that most people *will* judge by appearances initially.

Welcome back! I hope the business goes better in SF and that your brother-in-law recovers quickly and fully!

He's recovering slowly, but it looks to be a full recovery!

I'm still stuck in LA with a couple years left on my degree, but I wish I was up there!
