Christmas

Well, I'm back at the parent's house now. Decided to drop in late last night as a surprise/severe suggestion from the Grandmother.

I also just finished Final Fantasy XII a few minutes ago:

Wow, what amazing cinematography. The storyline was beautiful and the drama tuned up nice and high. It certainly left some questions in my mind: Is Venat really the malevolent being he appeared? In the end, he severed mankind from being dominated by the Occurians. :-/

Either way, it sufficiently served to dampen my disappointment at how easy the Bahamut stage was. I hit the ~52-53 level range and was able to destroy the final boss without much effort. It was a shame, as I was impressed when the creature managed to destroy 3 of my main characters before going into an invulnerable shell/survival game.

It caused me a bit of thought in how interesting it can be when your only goal is survival - for a time. Fascinating.

The ending cinematic was beautiful, well-acted and the voice-actor perfect for the part. Though I do wonder why he left her behind in the end... :(

Ahhh.....

The mysteries.

It appears this place is as gone to the dogs as ever - they run all over, adorable and mischievous as ever. Well, what can you do?

Hearing all of the names of people I once knew well was like hearing the names of ancient cities. Why do I know of them? Why are they there? Is there something to see or hear? As much as I felt a pang of regret, my mind told me only that time marches on. We continue until dust, hoping that someone will notice what we had once built.

All things are built upon a foundation, one built of bones and mortared with blood. Upon the shoulders of our predecessors do we rise, building a mountain, faster, taller, more distinct. Upon the basest emotions grow the finesses of life and elegance. The simple paperweight turns to art, the sand to glass, the metal to machinery.

When we've achieved it all - what then? Thankfully, the desire for more and the fear of death are unique - neither obstacle can be conquered, only the emotions quenched. Satisfaction and solace the two things which any man or woman can have, yet so few simply grasp.

Huh. Certainly keeps me busy at least!
