..Talking about you using me
But it all depends on what you do
It ain't too bad the way you're using me
'Cause I sure am using you
To do the things you do
Ah-ha, to do the things you do

Bill Withers - "Use Me"

Bitches,

You know I tried to write this post twice, on seperate occasions. I figured "Hell, I haven't posted in a while, I should prolly write SOMETHING significant as to what the hell is going on around here". Let me tell you, it was a doozy, I had a NICE lengthy post all written out and well done it had witty insights, some humour and even scary truths.

You know what happenned? LiveJournal FUCKED IT UP! Stupid auto-save that doesn't work for shit. DIE DIE DIE!

One thing that's still prevalent tho: I love music. I was able to get a shitload of CDs that my exroomate Matt sent my way. We're talkin a smorgasbord of music. A virtual plethora of CDs that I had yet to hear. We're talking new Ghostface, Snoop, Robin Thicke (Yeah, ALAN thicke's kid), The Isley Brothers (that Mos Def jam is CRAZY), Kalishnakov, and my fav thus far, has GOT to be this UB40 compilation. It's like my Groove Armada "Back to Mine" compilation, essentially it's not UB40 but a mix of songs and artists that influenced them and their sound. Now, I know I'm a man, but I've been a closet UB40 fan since Promises and Lies. I dunno why, but I always dug their white reggae sounds. Here's an example of the mix

01 - Timmy Thomas - 'Why Can't We Live Together'
02 - Black Uhuru - 'Youth Of Eglington'
03 - U. Roy And The Paragons - 'Wear You To The Ball'
04 - Michael Jackson - 'My Girl'
05 - Peter Tosh - 'Legalise It'
06 - King Tubby Meets The Upsetter - 'Wood Roots'
07 - Stevie Wonder - 'Never Had A Dream Come True'
08 - Fred Locks - 'Black Star Liners'
09 - Gregory Isaacs - 'Mr Know It All'
10 - Bill Withers - 'Use Me'
11 - Big Youth - 'Progress Part II'
12 - Burning Spear - 'Marcus Garvey'
13 - Zap Pow - 'This Is Reggae Music'
14 - The Wailers - 'African Herbsman'
15 - Otis Redding - 'Try A Little Tenderness'
16 - U.Roy And The Techniques - 'My Girl'
17 - Marvin Gaye - 'What's Going On'
18 - Ijahman - 'Are We A Warrior'

Can you believe it's all on ONE Cd?!.. I mean, goddamn!! I love being able to shut everything out and just, listen. I've been doing this thing where I put on a blindfold and shut everything off, lie in bed and just listen to music I enjoy. Not too loud, not too quiet, just enough for me to hear the instruments, the lyrics and rhythms. It's great.

I've got SUCH a hankering to paint and ZERO supplies. You know how frustrating that is? Back home in Ottawa, when I was living in Barrhaven, there would be days where me and Matt would decide to stay in, smoke a few joints, turn on the tv, put it in mute, throw a million CDs in the player and just paint/draw all fuckin DAY.

I think, if and when the time approaches, I'm going to see if maybe I could push the street art community here a bit. I've been told there's SOME, but nothing too big. Next time my bro sends me a package, I'm gonna get him to send me some of those blank stickers I left back at home. It's back.

It's me and you up in a tree
Aa!

P.S. Jackass 2 in dubbed over European Spanish is not as funny as I thought. FUCK.
