Terrifying vision of the future!
I just had a terrifying vision of the future...
It's been 8 years, Barack Obama is about to leave the White House because there are new elections. Since only the crazy people voted for Sarah Palin in 2012, and the Democrats had no better candidates, Obama got re-elected by a narrow margin. Angered that they didn't get their way, the Republicans stepped up their campaign of ruining any chance Obama has to get anything done.
So... at the end of his term, his last week in office, having been driven into gibbering insanity by the Republicans, and a Republican president (not Palin, thank Gods; she was killed in a freak skeeball accident) coming into the White House, Obama uses his last week to pardon every single criminal in America, burn down the White House, and sends out a flurry of executive orders that basically throw the whole governmental system of the US into absolute chaos. He and his family then move to some country without an extradition treaty with the US and sits back to laugh as the Republicans scurry to try to clean up the mess. The Democrats, having been driven half crazy themselves, do nothing to help, and actually hinder the Republican's efforts, mocking them at every turn. The whole country is in such insane chaos, with criminals roaming the streets at will and whatnot, that it takes years for things to calm down. At which point...
A. Republicans have been so thoroughly blamed that no one votes Republican again ever, the Republican party dies out to be replaced by the Green Party and the Libertarian Party.
B. Obama's whole plan backfires spectacularly as blame rebounds right back to the Democrats. No one ever votes Democrat again, and in 10 years the USA is an oppressive, theocratic, single-party country.
