Animated eye candy

One of yesterday's ThoughtCatalog posts had me grinning sporadically the rest of the day: The Hottest Male Animated Characters Ever. The glib writeups were great... I lost it at Li Shang. I mourn the lack of anime bishounen, though I believe the author offered it up for someone else to do. Man, fictional crushes are the best.

I finally got around to watching Sherlock, and I really enjoyed it--pacing, acting, action. I was told I need to watch the earlier series with Jeremy Brett. Who knows when I'll have the time...

NYC is an exciting place to be, and I'm having a great time here. I got a job a few months ago working for a scientific journal and moved in with two great guys and a cat. It's liberating, especially leisure-wise, to live in a big city. I love that there's so much to explore, and I really like the area I live in, too. It's friendly and diverse and has a hangout-ability that I hadn't experienced in the places I lived before.

I keep seeing women reading the 50 Shades of Gray book (or sequel? It's got handcuffs on the cover) on the subway, and it makes me smile to myself. It's interesting to me that people don't mind reading it in public ... is it a sign of culture change, or just this case because it's so mainstream? I suppose if there's a place where people will merely shrug and go back to staring out the window, it's here.
