I'm so proud of Noelle. It wasn't just any one particular thing that made me decide this (well, it was and it wasn't...), just... she's so well-behaved. Last night at class we did something a bit unusual in letting the dogs (those that are social enough, at least! we have one or two in class that don't play nicely) romp a bit off-leash while we talked a bit... and kept one eye on them, of course. Usually we just crate them while we chat, but at least one of the dogs needed to burn off some energy. Noelle went over, sniffed a bit, and then returned to me. Sitting at my side, she gave me a look that purely communicated the sentiment "I don't want to /play/ now, its time to work!" I told her to go play ('go play' is a bit of a command to her, the opposite of 'we're working'. The latter tells her its time to get her furry behind back here and focus, whereas the former serves to reverse that). She obliged, but barely a minute passed before she returned and sat down right next to me. The second incident was about halfway through class. The trainer's puppy came bounding over from across the arena, and Noelle couldn't care less. I just think there's something so cool about the fact I've trained the dog to pay attention to me despite being jumped on by an overly-exuberant pup.
So... yes. That was my easily amused moment for the night, realizing what a great dog I've got ;) That's a pretty far cry from the reactive dog I had at this time last year. She's certainly taken well to clicker training. Annnnd she's getting Christmas pictures with Santa sometime this weekend, hopefully. *cackle*
I totally dig all-natural hot oil treatments. The technique that seems to be working for me involves leaving it up under a warm towel, etc, for ten minutes. My hair has dried so nicely this time... though I may've gotten a bit much on there. Its not greasy, persay, just a bit shinier than I'm used to. Ah well, any excess will certainly rub off on my wrap tonight. My hair's not really seeming too dry or brittle at all, I think the reason I lack a lot of the look I want is that its still /wavy/. The wavy look, as opposed to bone straight, is rather growing on me though. Its rather pretty when the hair's not completely dry. (Now to keep it out of the rain! That's... no easy task in Oregon)
*many hugs for
blackstarre* What a thing to have happen, especially right before the holidays. I'm always here if you need to talk hon, or if you need anything else!
