I decided to coordinate the concert because I thought my friends and I would enjoy seeing our adopted kids in concert. I even brought along my six-month-old son Joonmyun with me too! He spent most of the concert backstage with his app…I mean favorite hyung so I could enjoy the concert more. Boy was Yunho jealous. It was so cute to see! Awww… It’s so obvious that he can’t wait to have his own… Ahem. Anyways…
We even had EXO perform even though neither my friends nor I have adopted any of the members. From what I could tell, SM thought this concert would be good exposure for them since DB5K was making a comeback. (How that came to be I don’t know because I’m still waiting for Yunho, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu’s mom, Gee, to make a statement.)
I was very worried that Infinite wasn’t going to show up. I mean, they weren’t at any of the rehearsals, so what was I to think? Thank goodness they showed up last minute. I still haven’t heard from their mom yet either. I don’t even know if she ever made it to the concert. Still, Infinite showing up and rocking their stages was a load off my mind.
Now let me talk about my bbs. I adopted Ren, Aron and Baekho from NU’EST while my daughter Nikki adopted JR and Minhyun. NU’EST was amazing for rookies! I’m so proud of them! I only wish I could have influenced their stylists a little more. I mean, come on. The giant puffy thing on the shoulder? NU’EST is a boy band for crying out loud. And Ren’s hairstyle. I know most of the time he doesn’t mind being called a girl (he understands that Korean boy bands need their flower boys; you should see he and his brother Kevin talk about it - so cute! lol), but he just wished his hairstyle didn’t amplify that. I adore “Face” so much. The lyrics really tackle a hard subject - bulling - and the choreography match the lyrics really well. I always wonder how NU’EST gets the chairs to spin at the end of the choreography because they won’t teach me! Probably because they know I’ll mess up and break a chair or something. lol I also worry a little bit every time I see Ren step up on that chair; it’s so easy for him to get the footing wrong or the chair to slip out from under him. I know he’s practiced it a million times by now, but I’m a mom, so I can’t help but worry. I cheer every time I see “Face” performed too: “How dare you hit him!” and “Yeah, help him up!” lol And I know Aron knows how bad his English rap is at the end of the song. I head a long rant about it. I also heard the longest rant about the English in “I’m Sorry.” I understand you bb! Mama gets it; she used to be an English major.
And oh U-Kiss! Oh U-Kiss my bbs! Mama has so much love for you guys! Too bay Kibum and Alexander couldn’t make it to the concert. I may have said it before, but that made Xander really sad, which is a story for another time. (If you ask nicely, I may just tell you. ~__^) I can’t even begin to describe the true extent of my feelings when I saw that ahjussi dancing along to “Neverland” in his seat and the ahjummas during “Man Man Ha Ni.” If only those sorts of enthusiastic responses would turn into #1s for U-Kiss… That’s probably wishful thinking on my part; what a sad thought! TT_________TT My boys deserve all the love in the world! I was so proud of Kevin, Eli, AJ, Hoon (love that name!), Soohyun and Kiseop. I couldn’t help but say in a squeally mommy voice, “My boys are so great.” I’ve always loved the choreography for “0330.” I don’t know why; there’s just something about it. “Man Man Ha Ni” and “Neverland” were fierce! I can’t say I have favorite kids because seriously I don’t. U-Kiss just pulls at my heartstrings a little more for the reasons listed above, and my heart just swelled seeing them perform live for the first time. They were so great and amazing and perfect and everything and rughrighfkjhriuogfjk. Ahem. I got a little carried away. Sorry. No favorites, really.
Sorry Seohyun. You didn’t stick out too much for me during “Run Devil Run” or “Oh!”. SNSD just comes off as whole rather than individual members during most stages, which is a trait of the South Korean culture. Still, SNSD rocked their “Run Devil Run” stage. Plus that song will forever be my jam! “Oh!” is just the sort of cute bubbly pop song that I love; it never fails to get me in a good mood. It was a little weird seeing it performed in non-cutesy clothes, but it’s not like SNSD could have changed out of the fiercer “Run Devil Run” clothes. Great stage anyways! And Seohyun and Yonghwa’s joint “Banmal Song” stage was simply astonishing with a hint of romance. I squealed seeing the pictures of you two on the screen. ^____^ Honey, just marry him for real. I think there are more fans that wouldn’t mind than fans who would mind if you did because they would be giving you to a great guy. Who could forget that uber sweet Japanese book he hand made you when you were starting Japanese promotions? It just a whole bunch of awww~ if you ask me. Also, Yonghwa really took the time to get to know you on We Got Married. Oh, and your dress. Honey, who did your fitting? It was strapless and wasn’t tight enough from the looks of it. My strapless dresses never fit right either, so I’m sorry I couldn’t have been more help there.
Lizzy, Lizzy, Lizzy. You were adorable as always during After School and Orange Carmel’s stages. Ok, so you were fierce during “Let’s Do It” and “Bang.” I will forever rock out to “Bang.” Goodness, you and your band mates must have spent hours practicing that drumline routine! It really shows, making it a really great performance to watch. The fans were really funny going crazy. I was so loling at those Play Girlz. I know I shouldn’t have done it seeing as how they support my baby, however I couldn’t help myself. I always love to see fans going crazy for my kids though because it just warms my heart to know they’re loved. “Shanghai Romance” is such a fun song and performance. Lizzy stood out so much to me and looked like she was having so much fun. Work it girl! I’m glad she can let out her bubbly side was the Orange Carmel sub group. ^___^
What would a Wonder Girls performance be without “Nobody?” That song’s a classic. Plus it was the version with the mic stands/dance that everyone knows. I was totally up and dancing looking like a fool. I don’t care ‘cause my baby Sohee was up on stage! *sings and dances* ♪ I want nobody, nobody but you / I want nobody, nobody but you ♪ (I think I’m starting to warm up her icy personality finally. It may only be a little, nevertheless I’m really happy about it.) It was great seeing all the celebrities dancing along. I don’t know how the camera man found them all when he was panning the crowd. The Wonderfuls were so loud with their fanchants during “G.N.O.” Wow! I loved the shirt Sohee wore during the performance. Your fans were so loud bb! Mama is so proud! “Girls Girls” has such amazing lyrics. “mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">But I say / girls girls I'm a wonder girl / Can be the only one in the world / … / And I say you you / you you you you / Can be the best girl in the end” Such an inspiring song!
Jungshin, you rocked that bass during “Love!” You were so incredible! You also looked so cool! You need to tell Yonghwa that he doesn’t need to be so close to the mic. We can all hear him just fine. lol He doesn’t need to make out with it. As far as “One Time” goes, the guitars really stand out in that song, especially Jonghyun’s wailing in the beginning. You still looked super cool though! When does a bass player not look cool? Love you! It’s always wonderful to hear CNBLUE playing live. I wish they could do that on all those weekly music shows they go on. I mean, all the members are so incredibly talented when it comes to playing bass, guitar and drums! Why can’t they show the world that more often?
The special/joint stages were marvelous! I’ve already talked about Seohyun and Yonghwa’s joint “Banmal Song” stage. (It was so sweet that he wrote the song for her! Just get married already!) I think I forgot to say that I think I saw some Sones and Boices about ready to pass out then. lol Though the amount that were squealing at the sweetness was far greater. Seohyun, you hit Kyuhyun’s “sorray~” in “Sorry Sorry” beautifully. You’re so great at singing! Lizzy, you were so cute in your outfit with the purse during “Girlfriend.” Such a super fun stage! ^___^ Definitely not how Avril Lavigne performs the song. I totally think After School won their dance battle against SNSD even if I dislike the song AS danced to. I really like the school theme. They are After School after all. Was Uee supposed to be to seat? lol The Wonder Girls vs. SNSD battle stage was cute, and I have to say I think SNSD won. They sang just a little bit better. Sohee bb, you need to fix that flaw of yours of going off key sometimes while on stage. Soohyun and Lizzy’s “I Need a Girl” stage only goes to show that even after all these years, Secret Garden is as popular as ever. I mean, there is a good reason for that. No Kdrama has made me cry as much as Secret Garden (come on, the scene where Joowon writes the goodbye letter…TT_____TT) and the fantasy element was so well done. Kevin, Dongho and Sungjong’s “Magic Girl” stage was… Well it showed off how pretty flower boys are. I must admit, I found it cute, way cuter than the Orange Carmel original. Gosh, what has Kpop done to me? :P lol
All the other artists were flawless and awesome and amazing and great too! There is so much I could say about my reaction to the DB5K reunion seeing as they were the group that first got my into Kpop, but well I think it would be way too long and/or incoherent. Let’s just say, I flailed like the giant Cassie that I am and will forever be. I’ll just end by saying the this concert has to be the best that I ever went to, I’m glad I organized it and can’t wait to put another one together.
