It's rainy today in San Diego. This is an unusual event.
There was very, very deep water, perhaps 8-12" on the roadway I was on. It was really quite scary, but there was no way to turn around, so I had to forge on. Along the way, something in my car stopped working, and I'd like to know what.
The water was so deep that I think I was floating. At least, I was giving it gas, and the engine was revving, but I was only marginally moving forward.
If I let the car idle, my dashboard lights would dim. If I let it idle too long, there was a strange noise. Revving the engine made the dashboard nice and bright again, so I took care to not let it idle too low.
Everything is good and fine now, but given that it's a petrol car, what failed in my car tonight? What in the electrical system had stopped working? Anyone out there in Journal-land have any idea?
