We made it to the state park safely for the geocaching weekend. Hurray for public wi-fi access!
Getting the bikes on the bike rack was harder than I expected, but the girls and I finally managed to get them all on there. We actually went several miles down the road when another vehicle with an empty bike rack passed us. As soon as I saw it, I realized I'd forgotten to attach the side straps to the hatch. Oops! I pulled over and attached them at the next exit. No harm done.
Now for the bad news. The weather sucks. It rained hard all night long. I'm talking thunderstorms with high wind and buckets of rain. The forecast calls for this type of weather at least through the morning hours. Also, most of the caches are so spread out, we may have to drive from trail head to trail head rather than take our bikes.
Still, we're going to make the best of it. Right now, I'm waiting on Calliope and Katy to finish getting ready and then we'll head to breakfast. I'll keep an eye on the weather radar and we'll head out as soon as it's clear.
