omg guys! y'know what rocked this weekend?
1) supernatural - 6x18: "frontierland"
AND
2) doctor who - 6x01: "the impossible astronaut [part 1]"
THEY WERE BOTH SO WICKED!
i loved the posse jokes in spn, dean having a western fetish, and sam being a giant from the future. the interaction between the brothers felt a lot more like old skool s1 or s2 eps, which are some of my fave, so i was quite pleased :D sam riding a horse was hilarious, dean in a long duster and hat was too gorgeous for words, watching cas soul-fist bobby was creepy/hot [hyuk], and seeing the colt in action once more was cool. i was surprised and a tad disappointed that rachel only lasted for all of 3 secs, since it felt like the spoilers/ep info made a big deal of her existence. i guess castiel is really a sith must be keeping a pretty dark secret, eh? i'm hella excited for this coming week's ep, which promises to be eeeeerie.
as for doctor who, i JUST finished watching the season premiere and am still flailing over eleven and amy and rory and river song! so many quotable lines! a bit more exposition [AND MYSTERY] surrounding river! amy/rory adorableness! mark sheppard's guest appearance! and ASTRONAUTS! [which are one of my most fave things in the world, trust]. also, THE FIRST FEW SECS OF THE EP. THE LAST FEW SECS OF THE EP. HOLY GUACAMOLE.
leave a comment and tell me what you thought of either/both shows :D :D :D
oh, oh!
3) game of thrones has been pretty good so far too! i watched both eps with
the bf, who is a hardcore
grrm fan. [in fact, game of thrones was the first book he lent me after we started dating almost a decade ago]. unsurprisingly, he's being a lot more nitpicky than i am about the series, and has made comments on everything spanning daenerys' non-purple eyes to rickon's age to castle stark not looking exactly like he imagined, etc etc. however, overall we're pleased with the series so far, and are cautiously optimistic about the rest of the season.
BUT! i wish they hadn't made khal drogo so rapey! wtf? i know daeny didn't love her first few sexual encounters with drogo, but that doesn't equate BEING RAPED. why are we never shown her consent on screen? it's going to make empathizing with drogo very difficult in the future, especially when we eventually see his last encounter with visaerys.
for those of you who are watching the series - what do you think of it so far?
4) last but not least, the killing continues to be fucking FANTAAAAASTIC every week. if anyone [besides
annundriel and myself] is watching this show, please contribute your thoughts and hunches in the comments :D
