i was considering making one of those introductory posts given that i have a slew of new pals, but i never know what to say in them! so i decided to take an easier route
here's a meme i stoled from here_inmyhead:

→ "aldehyde". aldehydes are hydrocarbons with names that always end in -al. [here is a wiki article for further reference]. a buddy began calling me "moonaldehyde" after we started organic chem in grade 11 since my real name ends in -al. i opened this journal soon after, and the name just made sense *nerdface*
2. My name is _____ because ______.
→ "moonal". it's derived from a bengali poem about a girl named after the himalayan chamba pheasant b/c her eyes are large and the ocean can be seen in them. um, my eyes are pretty large but alas, you cannot see any bodies of water within them
coincidentally enough, the male moonal pheasant is known for its extremely vivid plumage and turquoise-ringed eyes - one of my fave colours is turquoise, i'm addicted to over-the-top eye makeup, wearing colourful clothes and surrounding myself with colour in general. also! kevin aka the large bird in the animated movie up is a moonal bird
3. My journal is titled ____ because ____.
→ the account name is "trichonopoly ash". it's from the sign of four by sir arthur conan doyle, in which sherlock holmes talks at length about the different types of cigar, cigarette and pipe tobacco ash. i always found it amusing - trust holmes to not only possess the ability to recognise 140 different types of ash with his naked eye, but have a paper published on the topic as well

the actual journal is titled "she said you got the money and i got the time..". it's a line from the verve's "all in the mind". the verve's my fave band and that is one stellar song. the music video is fantastic too, especially since richard ashcroft looks so freaking young in it, and i love how he's wearing a dress at the end for no discernible reason \0/

→ "..it's all in the mind" from the verve song i just mentioned in #3.

→ my big face. it was taken last year on my 25th birthday, and i happen to like the way i look in it.
