I love this new layout - truth be told I like it more than the old one. :P I know I already said this on Twitter as well, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little ipods!

I ♥ the word neologism, and neologisms themselves. Ah fuck it, I just ♥ language.

I don't know what I'm doing for Halloween yet - I hope someone I know throws a party though. An old friend from my hometown is threatening to visit, but I hope she doesn't (not because I don't like her but because she wants to come mid-week and I need to submit part of my thesis that Friday). So, I don't know. I hope I end up in a costume though. :P

THESIS! dude. i KNOW i've asked you this before but i seem to have forgotten the answer :( what IS your thesis? and is there a lot left to do?

Ah, thesis, thesis, thesis. Thesis. Urgh. There is LOADS left to do because I haven't done any work on it for about two months. D: D: D: Luckily it doesn't involve collecting data from participants or anything so that's a blessing. It's a discourse analysis (while we're on the subject on language). There's a load of research that looks at the language of science (i.e. the way scientists talk about their own findings and other people's, things like that), so I'm taking those conclusions and kind of applying them to creationism. Long story short, fundies used to say things like "Evolution isn't in the Bible so it's wrong", and now they say things like "Evolution is against the second law of thermodynamics, and it has been shown that most scientists have a liberal bias", but I've got to stretch that into 20,000 words or something.

... Which I have made a pretty good start on right there. Sorry for the essay!
