Today was the perfect day at work. It was enough to remind me why I used to like my job. And I was even relaxed and content enough to write during my whole lunch period! Instead of fleeing my desk so no one can interrupt me with questions...
Just a nice respite.
Also, reading some good books: on my fourth mystery by Sophie Hannah, which are quick reads, but psychological mind twisters. I'm also reading We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. This is from the POV of a mother whose son went on a killing spree at his high school, and its observations and cultural notations are spot-on--it's terrific, but heavier reading. So it's nice to take a break with the easier, but just as enthralling mysteries by Hannah. Recommend them all!
