Hahaha, seriously, PETA, seriously??

In other news, I decided to stop sucking and do some serious meal planning. The situation is this: we have two adults who work full-time. Both are pretty good cooks. Both like cooking. You think we would be coming home and whipping up eight-course dinners a-la Antonin Carême every night. Well, not so much. What usually ends up happening is us having agonizing discussions on the subway about what we would like to eat for dinner. And for lunch the next day. So I decided to put an end to this torture. It's not so much that we need to eat healthier food. We already have a pretty balanced diet and never make our way to some hamburger joint when we can't decide. It's just we always decide at the last moment. Lunch is also a big question every day. Nothing's wrong with good PB&J, but it gets old after a while. Also, lunch needs to be something I can either make the night before, or make very, very quickly in the morning. I get up at 6:30 and really do not wish to wake up any earlier than that. Therefore, I have started to think somewhat more ahead than at seven o'clock in the morning what to make for lunch. I have to say, my new rice cooker is now my favorite appliance. I mean, I could make rice before, but I had to watch it and not forget about it and burn it (happened all the time). Now, onigiri production has increased. Yesterday, I lovingly arranged delicious miso-marinated pork and some rice in our bento boxes. So yes, a nice start has been made.
