'TIS THE SEASON - a House MD Christmas video
I've had this done for like two weeks and have been waiting to post. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday, whatever you celebrate, and consider this my small gift to you. I love you all so much and I hope your Christmas/Hannukah/anything is just completely joyous.

This was difficult in a way for me because I couldn't decide what route I wanted to take. I first laid out the beginning of Cuddy's storyline, and it looked so beautiful that I wondered if maybe the video should just be all about her. But then I realized that there was so much more I would still be able to say. So I was able to get out her entire story that I wanted to tell AND do House's as well, in addition to a few other really small ones. There's a focus on Cuddy and her baby this year, House and his ~Merry Little Christmas~ of season three, reflections of the OT3 and other ships as well. It was a lot of fun to do and and while this is not your typical happy holiday video, like, at all, it ends well. ♥

A holiday-themed House MD video, set to Vienna Teng's "The Atheist Christmas Carol". It's not so much House/Cuddy as it is House and Cuddy both being miserable and dealing with their own sadness - Cuddy and her relationship with her patient and her baby, House and his lonliness and drinking/drug problem, juxtaposed against sprinkles of a happy Foreman/Thirteen, and the ducklings old and new having fantastic, warm Christmases. I feel like there's a lot to this and I'm having trouble summarizing everything without giving it all away.
Notes & Commentary
0:51 - death is not the last unknown. "I didn't even bury her, I just put my coat over her." This was where this video started. Because that death ISN'T the last unknown. That baby is still alive.
1:00 - I faded her right over Cuddy to show their connection - we knew that Cuddy was unnaturally connected to her. And since they never really explained in JTTW Cuddy's connection to this girl before she even knew she lost her baby, I tried to explain the conclusions I drew from it. I think Cuddy's intuition drew her to the girl even though at the time she didn't know why. I feel like she was able to feel her loss and identify with her, especially since they had lost the same exact thing.
1:36 - it's the season of cold, making warmth a divine intervention. "did you find the body of a baby?" I was just so absolutely taken with Cuddy and what she did, and to that child, she really was a divine intervention. And so was this couple.
1:41 - her stepping on those violins.
2:08 - the patient's baby is a lot like Joy. Cuddy thought she lost a baby, and then got Joy. This girl thought she lost a baby, and then got one too. Cuddy lost Joy, just as this girl will lose her daughter to Cuddy when she dies. "It's your daughter", cut to Cuddy with Joy. I'm having a hard time explaining the depth of what I'm thinking.
2:10 - I wanted to leave the sun in there as a sort of throwback to "Dark Road", which might sound silly but it felt right. I ended that with the sun coming up and the implication that Cuddy would eventually find a light at the end of the tunnel. And this baby in her hands is going to end up being that light.
2:25 - House's section now, and also OT3.
2:45 - we are not alone in fear, not alone in the dark. don't forget i love, i love, i love you. As Wilson and Cuddy attempt to save him from himself. They're all in it together.
3:15 - flashback to the three of them on Christmas back before their lives turned to shit. :(
3:31 - don't forget, i love, i love, i love you. Not only do Cuddy and Wilson love him and want to see him happy, his team does as well. And their kindness begins to change him. Also I really love his face every time he gets a present. He seems confused that anyone would ever want to get him anything and it breaks my heart.
3:45 - and their stories merge. ♥
4:04 - Cuddy gets what she wants, House learns kindness. ♥ There's still something he's looking for, though. Maybe next Christmas - one step at a time. ♥
