Saturday night
Okay, I don't post often but, when I do, it's like a short novel. I just hope I don't bore anyone.
OMG, I had such a great night last night. It started out pretty crappy but ended way better than I'd hoped. First, my date had to cancel because of last minute babysitter troubles. She called just as I was getting dressed. So, there I was, all dressed up and nowhere to go. It looked like I'd be home alone but, I decided to make some quick and apologetic calls. You have to apologize for calling someone with such a last minute date request. To my surprise, I got lucky. Months before, in a similar situation, a female friend named Cindy agreed at the last minute to go out to the club with me. When I called her late Saturday night, she was just then leaving to go out with another couple to the club. She was more than happy to be my date. Plus she already had her own ride. I could just meet her there.
Once I got to the club, it was busy but, there wasn't a lot of people I knew. Cindy was great about introducing me to friends though. All of her friends and a few new people we met that night, all knew another couple that Cindy and I know (and love.) Cindy had even said that Bruce and Allissa Black (the love couple) were supposed to show up at the club but, when she told me that, it was almost 2:00am. I was not expecting that to happen. Also what I was not expecting to happen was that my original date would call to say that she (on her own) found another baby sitter and would soon be able to go out. Unfortunately, there wasn't much I could do at that point. I'd already spent a lot of money to get into the club with Cindy. She understood and, we just planned to go out clubbing next Saturday night.
It wasn't long after the call that Cindy and I started hanging out in the play area. Cindy made sure to tell all her friends that I was a very caring and very good man. That meant a lot to me in so many ways. We all seemed to hit it off really well. Then at 3:00am I got a huge surprise. Bruce and Allissa did show up like Cindy had said. It was like the life of the party had just walked in when they hit the play area. The whole room took on a great festive atmosphere. We all stayed late until the club closed at 4:00am. Actually they had to ask us to leave (more than once) but, we just kept on playing and finally walked out at about 4:30. Even then, many of the people were going over to Bruce and Allissa's for after party fun. I had to leave to meet my daughter that next morning or else I would have been right with them. I get a smile on my face just thinking about the good times and the good people from last night. I hope everyone reading this had a great weekend too.
