Warded to Hermione Granger

Dear Hermione,

In reply to to this, my words to you in were certainly not an attempt to 'brush you off' in either case.

My point was that a change in attitude towards a single person does not constitute proof of ancestral possession. The same is true of the fumbling attempts of an adolescent boy to courtship.

As you know Miss Jones had already been included in my original list of students believed by the staff to be showing signs of ancestral possession and of masking such. Her close friend, Mr. Greenley had also been included.

It is so that Mr. Macmillan had not originally been part of our enquiries. That position has changed due to his presence at a bring and share dessert party last Friday evening, now believed to be the epicentre of said ancestral event.

So all parties, including Miss Jones and Mr. Macmillan, will continue to be observed so that we can pull together an overview of this event to aid those students affected by this ancestral possession to regain, if possible, their lives.

However, be also aware that Miss Jones and Mr. Greenley have now left the school in each other's companionship for the Easter holiday. I am unsure of Mr. Macmillan's or any of the others plans apart from Mr. Graves.

Best wishes,

Albus Dumbledore
