It’s been years since the fall. He knows this. Hell is finally working. Angels have stopped dying. The damned are separated from the fallen and everything is running smoothly. Except for Lucifer’s emotions.
The demand of setting up Hell let him ignore the fact that God has abandoned him and that he is confined to the underworld for all eternity. But now, now that he’s got the entire place under control he looks at his recent past and it kills him.
Lucifer tries to keep the façade up and he thinks it’s working. Of course, Azrael and Sariel know better, only to have their suspicions confirmed when Azrael finds his best friend sobbing in his office after work.
