I'M MOVING TO DC!!!
Guess what?! I accepted the job in DC! I flew there this weekend and went to visit the company on Monday morning. I took a tour of the place, met the people I had phone interviews with, and did a little bit of job shadowing. It seems like a really cool place to work, lots of young people. In fact, 50% of the company is under 30!! So the company is called the Corporate Executive Board, and it is basically a network for executives of large companies. If you want to check out the website, it is www.executiveboard.com. I am going to start off as a Sales Associate, which is basically an entry-level sales position. There's a lot of room for growth there though, so I'm really excited about it.
I spent a lot of time apartment searching with Alex Faxlanger this weekend. I think that we are probably going to end up getting a two bedroom apartment/condo/townhouse together. I'm really excited to live with her. I think it will be great to live with someone I know and have someone there to go out with, etc. We're looking in the Alexandria/Arlington areas but haven't managed to find the right place yet. Alex is looking more this weekend though, so I'm confident we'll find something soon. Plus, Adelle lives there too (I stayed with her this weekend), so she's a good resource for apartments and stuff too. Alex has been living in Maryland, so she's not as familiar with Virginia as Adelle is.
So here is the time frame:
Put in notice to current job: yesterday
Last day at work: probably March 17 (earlier if I feel like I've wrapped everything up)
Date TBD: Throw a going away party for myself :)
Pick up moving truck and pack: March 30
Drive to DC: March 31
Move into new apartment: April 1
Start new job: April 3
