Took Eastwood for his annual immunizations and exam this morning. As usual, he fussed all the way to the veterinarian's office. Once there, they had to fight to get him out of the carrier. Mom just returned home from taking her cat Booger to the vet about his limp. They x-rayed, and found a large tumor in the upper portion of the leg. Apparently it was fast growing, since it wasn't noticed a few months ago when he was taken in to get the mats out of his long hair ( Read more... )

Woke up this morning to take mom's cat to the vet to get his fur mats removed. He puts up too big of a fight when WE try to comb him, so the vet has to anesthetize him every time he has to get the mats removed. He's getting up in the years (20 later this year), and seems to groom himself less than he used to. The long fur doesn't help matters ( Read more... )

I'll have to get up earlier than usual in the morning. Mom's cat Booger's long hair is getting matted again, and we're taking him to the vet to get them removed. He fights too much if we try to keep him combed, so we know a "regular" groomer wouldn't be able to handle him. The vet has to "knock him out" to get things done. About 4 hours after his visit to the vet, Eastwood has gotten over his grudge, and is now lying on the floor under the desk next to my feet.

Dr. Malta DID have a different diagnosis for Eastwood. Nothing to do with arthritis. Plenty to do with a reaction to fleas. Fleas are near impossible to see on Eastwood, because of the color of his fur. After I mentioned the white specks in his fur, she ran a comb through it, and discovered a lot of dark specks also, which she identified as flea ( Read more... )

Getting ready to take Eastwood back to the vet this morning. Not really sure they are on the right track about his problem possibly being arthritis. Those two shots last week haven't produced any noticeable changes in the sensitivity on his backside. Also, when I comb him, a lot of white flakes are in his fur ( Read more... )

Had my alarm set for 7:00am, since Eastwood had his 9:15am veterinarian appointment this morning. I showered, shaved, brewed a pot of Community Dark Roast Coffee, and sat down at the computer. Turned on the monitor. It flashed on for about half a second, then went to black. Turned it off and on again... same thing. Rebooted the tower. Same thing. ( Read more... )

Just called Cooper Veterinary and got Eastwood an appointment for 9:15 in the morning. The past week or so, he's been rather sensitive around his back end. Just touching the area of his back near his tail, he turns and meows. When he sits down, he sits down quickly, and his body twitches.
