I'm already hearing explosions in the neighborhood, and it's only 6:10pm.

Judging from all the popping outside, I'm guessing "firework season" has started again.

Both mom and I retired early last night. About two houses down, the people were shooting off fireworks. They continued to do so AFTER 10pm. It's against parish law to shoot them between 10pm and 8amNeither of us could get to sleep from the noise. She gets up and calls the sheriff's department. A bit later, the noise stopped.
