Not sure if it's my imagination, but the new non-stick covered skillet I ordered recently seems to cook quicker than the older one, which the non-stick surface was wearing off of. Difference: The new one has a ceramic lining. Older one had a teflon lining.

Just made some spaghetti to consume for the next two-three days. Yes, I'm cheap (but HAVE to be now). When draining the pasta, I was reminded how much I hate the newer colander mom had purchased a couple years ago after the old one bought in the 1960's lost a handle. Mom cooked up a little "Thanksgiving" food thinking my uncle would come over. He just called to say he wasn't feeling well, wouldn't be coming over after all, and was going to take a nap. As a result, mom is going to have quite a bit to eat (and possibly toss out later). I'm still on a liquid diet because of my swallowing issue, so I can't eat any ( Read more... )

Mom made a dish for the first time today that included tilapia. Neither her OR I were very happy with it!

I have the last load of laundry in the clothes dryer.

Mom is cooking some dinner. Great advantage to her living here now, ocassionally we get home cooked meals!

The past three days, my head has felt like it's in a plastic bag. Apparently Andrew was so involved with his games last night, he forgot to finish something he started. When I woke up this morning, the oven was on, and five pieces of thawed "Texas Toast" were on a cookie sheet on top of the stove.
