When I replaced the shower curtain liner in the bathroom earlier today, I decided to not put the old solid fabric curtain back up which mom bought several years ago. Random memories recalled this evening while re-watching old "Monty Python's Flying Circus" episodes in my collection. My aunt on mom's side of the family got me hooked on the series in the 1970's. Mom, I, and my remaining uncle on her side of the family have given up on contact with an aunt. In recent years in letters to mom and calls, she has said she would get back. It's almost as if my aunt has fallen off the face of the Earth. She hasn't posted anything on Facebook since November 14th, and when Mom tries to call her, she always gets voicemail and never gets a return call. My aunt called this afternoon for the first time in ages and talked to mom and me. At one point, I started talking about the stuff I watch on streaming services. Completely confused her. Why is it that my mother(on the left) gets her picture taken a few years ago on a visit to Branson, Missouri with my late Aunt Traudl, with the semi-celeb Yakov Smirnoff... yet ALL I can muster up for myself is an autographed photo and "Match Game" card by Dick DeBartolo, and an autographed CD from Marcia Ball... without actually meeting them?!?
