Going through the Tape & Record Show Enterprises "archives", I stumbled upon yet another "Randy Haney's Life of Elvis" "broadcast" I had forgotten existed. It was labeled as episode 17, but it was a 90 minute show. I looked up in the card files, and found the program description. The contents of the program were originally recorded in 1987, but not "aired" until the "third attempt" at "season 9" of the Tape & Record Show organization in 1992.
The reason I say "third attempt" is because the original "Season 9" of the recording organization officially started on schedule on Monday, June 29, 1987. However, according to the card from Friday, July 3, 1987, we "left the air" apparently due to "financial problems". Can't for the life of me remember what was up with that.
TRSE started back up again on Friday, September 2, 1988, but then "closed shop" again in early 1990. I think I put everything on the "back burner" at that time after getting into a relationship with a girl from work (no, not THAT girl), which lasted a little over a year.
The organization resurfaced for the last time starting on Monday, August 12, 1991. It then closed shop again on Wednesday, February 26, 1992, which was around the time I started seeing another girl from work, which eventually led to the dreaded marriage/divorce.
Things returned VERY briefly(one week!) on Monday, October 11, 1999 and ran until Monday, October 18, 1999, so I really don't consider that a serious "attempt" at a comeback. I think I just said "Screw it!" by the time that attempt to bring things back had started. Most of the "main players" were impossible to get to the studio by then due to other commitments, so there really was no point in continuing.
Anywho, back to the recording I started this rambling post off with. I THINK Randy came to the studio and recorded that hour and a half worth of material in 1987 to originally be broken down into three more new "Life of Elvis" episodes. However, since TRSE's temporary "financial issues" reared their ugly head around that time, nothing was done with that recording session until January 1992, when I took the entire session and made it basically a 90 minute unedited "Life of Elvis" single episode. So there was a five year "gap" between original recording and "broadcast date". That episode was also only "aired" ONCE, so yet ANOTHER reason I would have forgotten its existence after 30 years, until finding the tape in the archives. The contents of that episode are listed here...
"Episode 17: Broadcast Wednesday, January 8, 1992 at 7:00pm central.Theme Music: From Graceland to the Promised Land(Merle Haggard).
