Misdirected Gmail Part Deux

Got two more legitimate emails in my Gmail account this morning meant for other people. Did an internet search, and think I've figured out WHY I get those emails. Apparently Gmail doesn't recognize "dots" in user email account addresses. My Gmail starts with "albert65". So, if someone made an account with, say, "albert.65", the email would come to

Or maybe the sender just forgot to put the dot in? I have a hard time believing Google would have an issue like that.
