Same story, still usually very busy with schoolwork. Just had an assignment where I wrote a journal article about corporate carbon disclosure, which was due on Monday, so there's a little bit of breathing space now before my next essay due next week and one last one due soon after that. Tomorrow, my Sustainable Energy Technologies course has a field trip to a biomass power plant... Last week it was to a wind farm site.
Still having a bit of a hassle about our heating system... It works OK now but still has an "at risk" tag on it from Scottish Gas because it was installed three years ago with the wrong type of flue pipe (by our contractor's sub-contractor at the time, who was likely trying to save money... but it was a bit dodgy and illegal even, perhaps unsafe too). Anyway, so we need to get it fixed which is a hassle because we are doing it via a third party who will do it correctly and bill our old contractor... who isn't really ecstatic about it... and neither are we.
This weekend we had a visit from Linda's Aunt Suzanne from Canada and her grandson Aidan. We all had a nice lasagne dinner over at Jenny and Andy's, with Linda's other Aunt Isobel. Aidan, who is about 13 or 14, stayed at our house over the weekend before they went back down to London yesterday. Suzanne stayed at Isobel's. Aidan's a big Beatles fan so we watched a VHS video compilation of Beatles and Rolling Stones things I made a long time ago.
Anyway, also wanted to mention my interest in this whole Libya situation. Looks like Gadaffi is holding onto power. Interested to see what happens.
